    Nnnt.

Okay, I've just watched Fall Weather Friends, Art of The Dress, and Feeling Pinkie Keen. FWF and AoTD were great, but... I didn't like FPK. It was funny, but... I don't like the way Pinkie 'taught' Twilight how to believe in her Pinkie Sense. The entire episode is about Twilight getting seriously hurt, not because of Pinkie's Pinkie Sense, but because of karma. Why is Twilight getting

    Episodes 6-10

Yesterday I watched Boast Busters, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Trixie's "real" voice (or, he mannerisms and personality) was more...annoying? No, more like prissy, arrogant, and snide- than I was expecting, but I warmed up to her. I also understand why a lot of people hate Snips and Snails- they're VERY dim, they sound REALLY annoying, and they're much more responsible for ruining her life and

Episodes 6-10 · 5:38am Nov 15th, 2013

Yesterday I watched Boast Busters, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Trixie's "real" voice (or, he mannerisms and personality) was more...annoying? No, more like prissy, arrogant, and snide- than I was expecting, but I warmed up to her. I also understand why a lot of people hate Snips and Snails- they're VERY dim, they sound REALLY annoying, and they're much more responsible for ruining her life and career than the Mane 6 ever were. Also, I think this episode brought to my attention one of the most common inconsistencies that plague the show- the magic. Twilight is shown easily bringing a small doorway into existence out of nothing, yet struggles really hard to put the Ursa Minor. I guess it was because of a combination of inexperience and the strain of doing multiple spells at once. So mostly inexperience.

Also watched Look Before You Sleep, Dragonshy, Bridle Gossip, and Swarm of the Century. Before Look before You Sleep, Applejack and Rarity never really interacted like they did here, so it seemed kind of odd, though I guess other Bronies felt that way too. Why isn't there a Rainbow Dash and Rarity episode? Or a Rarity and Pinkie Pie episode? Also, I've noticed in Griffon The Brush Off Look Before You Sleep, Green Just Isn't Your Color, and in Fall Weather Friends (GJIYC and FWF I have yet to watch), Twilight played a big part in each of the relationship conflict. I guess that was a "Early Installment Weirdness" which happens to every show, and I know enough of the canon to know that this is before Celestia told Twilight that her friendship reports didn't have to be written by her specifically, so Twilight didn't have to be there as the mediator for the conflicts. Twilight wishing to give "makeovers" was odd for me. According to TVTropes, she was created to have Mid Aspergers Syndrome, so something as minuscule as changing appearances would usually bother an Aspie. I guess the reasoning could summed up in several factors: A., she's an Aspergic Mare, while I'm an Aspergic boy; B. So girls can identify with her; and C: Aspergers people are not uniform. They share most, but NOT all the symptoms of the Syndrome. The differences arise from both how the person naturally is and how they were raised. Twilight, having been raised by Celestia spent a good portion of her life with Celestia, must have learned that ones appearance is important, so she would regard it differently then I would.

In Dragonshy, I finally see Fluttershy's epic scolding of the red Dragon. Surprised one dragon could cause all that smoke. Like what Pinkie Pie said, "That can't be healthy." Oddly, the Dragon never breathed fire. All he did was used smoke as a concussive weapon. Obviously, they didn't want the protagonists to die in the seventh episode, so they had him snort gale-force winds smog. Heh, "Smog". Guess maybe some fans took to calling him "Smaug".

Bridle Gossip was the first episode to really define Applebloom. To me, he relationship with Zecora is a big part of her personality, along with "Youngest Apple Sibling" and "Earth Filly Cutie Mark Crusader #1". I was actually surprised to see her independent from Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle this early in the season. Also, loved Fluttershy's man voice. Why? 1. It's Tigatron, Maximal tree-hugger and white tiger; #2, she does a mean jazz rendition of Pinkies Zecora Song, and #3....There was a three. Nevermind. Oh yes! It was HILARIOUS. I was actually surprised they knew Zecora's name before they got a chance to know her. How would they know her name if they don't even know what she was? Also, I, for some reason, was uncormfortable with tiny Applejack fitting a bridle over Rainbow Dash. It just seems disturbing to see an intelligent horse put a fellow intelligent horse (and best friend, mind you) under such a demeaning treatment. When humans treat other humans like animals, its because they view the other as "lesser" beings, since, because animals don't have civilization like we do, they seem inferior or primitive. Even if this was just for laughs, it still bothers me. It was hard for me to understand what was Rainbow Dash's 'Joke' too. Were her wings reversed, or did she loose her equilibrium?

The last episode I watched was Swarm of the Century, where I finally met the pony version of the Scraplets. Except the Parasprites didn't eat ponies (as far as we know), they didn't make terrifying dentist drill sounds when they open their mouths, and they stayed cute when said mouths are open. Also, Scraplets in the original Transformers comic were closer to a semi-sentient disease then a really horrific vermin/parasite. I was intrigued by the Parasprite method of reproduction: vomiting hairballs that turn into new Parasprites. Hmm. I found Pinkie Pie's Parasprite Polka to be as charming as it supposed to be. The ending with Celestia physically showing up and telling Twilight that she couldn't come to visit the Ponyville, except still coming to the outskirts of Ponyville, however, was in my opinion the weakest part of the episode. Did the writers conveniently forget that Spike can send magical messages to the Princess? It's not a huge plot hole, but it kinda sours the last threshold of the episode, where they were desperately scrambling to ready the preparations and get rid of the Parasprites. If there was a scene where Spike was trying to tell Twilight he got a message from Celestia, only to interrupted by Parasprites eating the message, I'd feel better.

All in all, five great episodes. See you all later!

character inconsistencies can also be blamed on different writers having different ideas. as well as early installment weirdness.

yeah, rainbow dash's 'curse' in bridle gossip was having her wings turned backwards, thus messing up her flying somehow (I don't know how wings work)

Actually, the parasprites have been more compared to trbbles (a star trek creature) than anything else, and that is probably what the writers were going for most likely (considering lauren faust, the show's creator who pretty much had control over the first season, does watch star trek)
