    I still exist...

...and I'm working on something new that I've had rattling around in my head for a bit. I'm still not sure how I plan on working it out, I've always had a bit of a problem translating what's in my head into anything that's out in the open, but I wanna give it a shot. I figure if I can get this idea down, then I can go from there, but that's always the tricky part.

    Nightmare Nights Dallas: Follow-up

So, I just got done with Nightmare Nights Dallas. Whew, what a weekend. I had almost forgotten the rush and absolute thrill one gets going to a con. This one more so than other, simply due to the fact of PONIES! Great panelists, great attendees, and great hosts really made this one a standout winner in my book.

    Nightmare Nights Dallas

For those interested and in the area, I'll be at Nightmare Nights Dallas this weekend. Friday I'll just be wandering around for a little, but Saturday and Sunday I'll be there for most of the day, enjoying the con. Hope to see some fellow FimFiction writers and readers out there!

    Distractions

I haz them. Many of them. The main culprits (for now) are Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Pokemon Y.

So yeah. Everything else kinda got one-shotted by those two. An awesome MMO combined with OCD: The Game is never a good combo to deal with when trying to get things done.

Gearing up to work on my story, and name changes.

For all that may or may not have noticed, I've changed the name of my fic a little. The reason behind this is to align it more with my other two planned stories, as well as to help make the crossover a bit more visible. The prequel will be an Ogre Battle crossover in the same vein as WotC; that is to say, while not crossing over any specific game, I will be using elements from the series to

Nightmare Nights Dallas: Follow-up · 3:23am Nov 11th, 2013

So, I just got done with Nightmare Nights Dallas. Whew, what a weekend. I had almost forgotten the rush and absolute thrill one gets going to a con. This one more so than other, simply due to the fact of PONIES! Great panelists, great attendees, and great hosts really made this one a standout winner in my book.

There was actually quite a bit to do, so much so that it wasn't uncommon to have to choose between two or more events going on. I missed a few things, like the studio and VA panels, but I caught a lot of the smaller, more personal panels that got you a bit more inside the minds behind the shows.

Also, a slightly tipsy (drunk) Lee Tockar and M.A. Larson are fucking hilarious to watch and listen to.

My bank account certainly didn't like this weekend (so much so that it actually locked up in an attempt to prevent me from spending more during the charity auction; I handled that issue like a BAWS!!!), but my loot pool is the most epic it's ever been. Ever. Here's the rundown of what I managed to farm this con run:

-Pinkie Pie mouse pad
-Pinkie Pie card play mat
-Pinkie Pie card sleeves
-Plush Pinkie Pie
-vinyl Pinkie Pie stickers
-many posters and cards, most of which feature Pinkie Pie
-lots of Pinkie Pie buttons and badges (sensing a pattern here...)
-got my copy of G.M. Berrow's Pinkie Pie book signed by both Andrea Libman and G.M. Berrow(!!!)
-Lots of cosplay pictures

And as for my pull in the charity auction:
-Build-A-Bear Grand Galloping Gala Pinkie Pie (signed by Andrea Libman, unstuffed; BAB doesn't sell those anymore, by the way, so super rare!)
-Pinkie Pie iron on patch
-Several signed posters (signed by the artists and the cast/crew; the NMND rave poster signed by all the musicians)
-Custom artwork of Pinkie Pie made by M.A. Larson himself on the spot (signed by him as well)
-FOB Equestria Challenge Coin (That one of a kind is going right next to all of my other challenge coins that I picked up in my time in the Air Force)

Soooooo yeah. Made out like a bandit. And spent like close to $1000 over the course of the weekend. On Pinkie Pie swag. And I'm not even worried about it! Also, I managed to get a picture taken with M.A. Larson and myself with the artwork he drew for me from the auction, and who should photobomb us, but none other than PixelKitties herself. It was the funniest photobomb ever, cuz she looks like she's just leaning on the table behind us on purpose, but she didn't even realize she was doing it at the time. We showed it to her, and we all had a good laugh about it.

All in all, lots of good memories from this con and this weekend. Here's to hoping the number crunching shows a favorable trend to have this become a recurring thing, because This was a fucking AMAZING con, and I'd LOVE to have Nightmare Nights Dallas come back!

Also, I totally kicked Sethisto's ass in the MLP CCG as Pinkie Pie!
