When you read this, you will either be infuriated or saddened at the lengths that criminals will go to steal things from people over the internet.

They actually wrote a virus program that holds your computer hostage like bank robbers looking for the code to the vault? This is basically cyber-extortion. It's not really different from a person kidnapping a loved one and then demanding money for their safe return, except the former actually involves an innocent human being rather than a machine.

Here's hoping the FBI cracks down on whoever is making and using these programs.
