    Spur of the moment decision?

    Spur of the moment decision.

I'm going to rewrite the Equestrian Knight trilogy, submitting one chapter per day until completion, so I can finally feel good about it and get back into writing.

    You can't stop me.

    It begins.

    Today!

    Please excuse this post...

...because I just wrote something I thought I needed to get out. I wrote it on Facebook, and I don't foresee it getting any interest here either, but I don't want it lost entirely. Also, some of you might be interested in what I have to say (not likely) but here it is:

On the Grammar of Publishing Houses

I was in the store the other day and came across a book next to the checkout lane. There was a DVD of the same title next to it, but I couldn't be sure if the book inspired the movie or vice versa.

Or, "Why breaking your hand sucks as an author."

Let's start this off with some good news. First, I'll be free of this cast in two weeks, freeing my hand enough to finally get to progress in my writing. Second, the desire to write has been building and I have a good idea of what I'll do when I can finally write without restraints. Now, for the not-bad stuff.

Last year, RavensDagger participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and I was tempted to join in. I eventually gave into his and his underlings (hah!) demands that I write and vowed to do it next year. Well, how time flies, and it is almost November again. Somehow, I have to write 50,000 words with a two-week handicap given to the other participants.

So, because of Enfan's generosity, I have a new* keyboard with which to write and owe him a chapter of his choice (When Steam Reigns). I also have to update CoSh and AMWB for you patient folks. Then, I have the story to write for NaNoWriMo. All of this has to happen in the two weeks I have of November to write. The first two weeks will have to be left open for planning or whatever little bit of writing I can do with one and a half hands. Now, AMWB is normally written in a single day as a thought exercise, of sorts, so that won't slow me down in the least. CoSh, however, will be a boggle to deal with, combined with my complete blank in regards to WSR.

My plan is simple, yet my laziness and the fact that I have high-speed internet for now is not. First, I have to disregard the internet in anything beyond updates to sites I frequent (4). Second, I have to plan out the next chapter of both WSR and CoSh (mostly done anyway). Third, I have to decide which of my stories in the back burner should be my chosen NaNoWriMo story and start planning that (just a basic premise so I can stay interested; the point of the exercise is more to write than to make a perfect story in a month). Fourth, I need to have WSR complete and CoSh on the polish stage before my cast comes off (and for those of y'all counting WpC, that's about 7,000+ words). Fifth, AMWB must be written in a single day sometime within the month (either when I get stuck on another story or get the right mood for it) and most likely polish CoSh on that same day. And finally, I have to write 50,000+ words between Nov. 11th and Nov. 30th while doing everything else.

It seems like a lot, but I've given my word that I'd do these things, so there's no way out. Luckily, I have a few days advance notice from RavensDagger's blog post about this that I can use to plan everything out and have a head-start. If anyone is interested in giving me a hand, the only thing I can think of is someone to help me brainstorm and work with me on the NaNoWriMo story. Enfan is my designated brainstormee for every other story, and probably will get bothered with this one too, but another mind won't hurt. Also, I really have to get back on Raven's hangout (it's been too long) and they may be willing to assist as well (though with Raven's plans, I'll assume not).

Oh! If anyone was wondering what my hand looked like when it was being set for the bone to heal, here and here are two images. The first is the first attempt, which ended with the bone slipping, and the second is the try that worked (Try to find the fourth pin).

Tah
