    Back in Brown

Nope, I ain't dead yet! now, good news and bad news.

The good news is that I'm back into the WWI groove. As most of my stories involve WWI aviation, this is pretty good. What's more, this is because of a trip I took to the old Rhinebeck Aerodrome today. for 75 bucks I went on a biplane ride over the Hudson valley.

I'm at a Fork in the Road

So, I've been talking about writing a story. In it, a guy obsessed with World war I aviation is tasked by Celestia to start an actual aviation unit. It takes place between Canterlot and Ponyville, and has eight little arcs planned.

Then I came up with a different idea.

    I'm Returning from Space

Yep, after a lovely trip into orbit and back, I'm finally dedicating myself more to classic WWI aviation. Progress on To the Sky will continue at an increased rate and I'll watch more Rise of Flight videos and listen to WWI songs.
It's all about getting in the mood over here at Turdy1 Productions.

    Still in Space

KSP is kinda addicting, once you set some goals. At the moment, I've launched 39 missions, sent 12 Kerbals into space, and have planned out a total of 62 missions.
Also, the next update is giving us Science stuff, so all Mun missions will be on hold after the next one. Meaning after a few orbital "Gemstone" missions, I can get back to writing.

    brb, In Space

So, I got Kerbal Space program yesterday.
I don't expect much progress on anything else. For at least a few weeks.
On the plus side, I've got six probes in orbit around Kerbin, and I'm finishing development on a manned orbital mission.
But nag me enough, and I'll get back to fanfics, I promise.

But I've taken a lot back with me from my trip to "Space." I'm now helping a friend with with two stories, one relating to space. I'm now much more interested in anything space related (How many of you heard about Scott Carpenter's death? Hmm?). I've also come up with an awesome idea for an Apollo 18 mission that crosses over into MLP. Here's what I have so far:

In 1973, successful lobbying from Harrison Schmitt and the heads of NASA clear one final Apollo mission. This will be the big bang to end the Apollo Program with: A trip to the Tsiolkovskiy crater on the far side of the moon. It will take a lot of work, considering communication satellites will need to be put up, but this is the only chance they will have to do anything like this.

With Schmitt himself reassigned from the original Apollo 18 roster to Apollo 17, the crew was reorganized as follows:
Fred Haise will be the Commander. He previously flew on the ill fated Apollo 13 mission as the Lunar Module pilot and was slated to be Apollo 19's commander.
Dick Gordon will be the Lunar Module Pilot. He flew on Apollo 12 as the Command Module Pilot, meaning he stayed in Lunar orbit Initially assigned as the Commander of Apollo 18, he's been moved to the LMP position.
Vance Brand will be the Command Module Pilot. Initially he was going to take part in the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, but the reactivation of the Apollo 18 mission means he's back in his initial placement.
The backup crew consists of Stuart Roosa, Gerald Carr, and Will Pogue.
The Equipment used will be S-IC-14 as the Saturn V's first stage, S-II-14 as the second stage, and S-IVB-513 as the third stage. The Command/Service Module for the mission is CSM-115 and named Freedom, while the Lunar Module is LM-13 and named Liberty. The mission also brings Lunar Rover LRV-004 for the planned LEVA's.

The mission starts out well, with Haise and Gordon successfully landing Liberty close to their target. Things get weird during their first LEVA, though.
On a different world, Princess Luna decides to visit her moon, now that she has a greatly stabilized mindset. Shortly after teleporting, she finds two bipedal creatures in a funny little cart. She follows them at a distance to a strange spider-like structure, which they enter. She stays hidden until the two head out on a second LEVA, when she inspects the spider up close, taking note of features. Unfortunately, Haise and Gordon return before she can hide again. And even more unfortunate, she is ecstatic at the prospect of meeting another species, especially one that's interested in her moon. After a magic-aided conversation, Luna comes to a conclusion: She must take these two back to Equestria. The Apollo crew protests, but at this point Luna's tuned them out. In a flash of light, she brings the two of them to Equestria.
Along with the Rover. And Liberty.
The teleport brings them to somewhere near Canterlot, the result of the massive amount of magic needed just to teleport them to Equestria. The crew tries to explain their new problem to Luna, but she's a bit woozy. She only becomes interested when they mention Brand still in orbit. Soon afterwards, Freedom appears in front of them, and Luna falls unconscious. After explaining the situation the Brand, the three drop Luna onto the Rover and head to Canterlot, hoping they can figure out a way back to Earth.

That's my idea. Since I'm trying to work on my other stuff, me writing this won't happen anytime soon. I am willing to let someone use the idea. I'll even do any extra research needed to make it as accurate as possible. So let me know if you want to write this. I'd love to see it published, but I can't do it myself.

Someone needs to make this.

I would do it, but I'm notoriously poor at producing written things.
