Kaidan was stabbed in the back by a friend. Kaidan wrote “Lustmare Spoon and the Elements of Sexual Prowess” for him, letting him post it to help him get featured.

He edited Warm Diary, Reflections of Rarity, Dusty Letters of Lunashy, Of Rocks and Showmares, edited and help wrote Shining Armor and Cadance do some Roleplay. He has read all of his stories, and if he wants to change his votes from upvote to downvote, on stories he edited and even wrote, he has that right.

It’s unfair to ban someone because something happens off-site that changes their opinion of a user. It’s unfair to ban them for downvoting a story, especially one they wrote for the user just so they could turn around and use it to get him banned.

I'm confused. It took me long enough to figure out which "he" was which.

Where was Kaidan banned from? He doesn't seem to be banned here now; was he before?

How did the friend ban them? Was the friend a mod or admin here? Are they still?

Were the downvotes really cast on a completely different site? That seems amazingly petty if true; on what other site do people even vote on MLP stories? Reddit or something? Is the friend an admin there, able to view users' votes? Then why didn't they ban Kaidan from there? Or did Kaidan go announcing his votes for some reason?

If Kaidan wrote the story, why didn't he repost it on his own account, especially since the friend seems to have made their own copy private? Is Kaidan now embarrassed by it, hence the downvote? (At least it's still on fimfetch.net.)

Why do you call the friend "he"? If you wanted to hide their identity, you could just use singular "they" (and you presumably wouldn't name their fics and even link to one).

3446346 First off, this blog post is old. In fact, in under 2 weeks, this'll have been 2 years ago, so forgive me if the details are sketchy.

FimFiction. He got unbanned, I believe. We don't talk much any more, so I can't say for certain.

No, they weren't a mod, nor admin. They reported Kaidan for downvoting all of their stories, which is apparently a bannable offence because you can't dislike all of somebody's stories, and if you do downvote them, then you MUST be downvoting for something unrelated!

They were entirely on this site, to my knowledge.

Yeah, as Red said, only on here. I'm actually not sure how they found out, though maybe moderators get notifications if a user dislikes a certain number of stories in a short space of time? I don't think he told anybody until after this whole mess.

He probably couldn't repost it to his own account because at the time it was still on the "friend's" account.

And, with regards to being embarrassed, no. Far from it, I think he just eventually decided that he didn't like the story any more. As you grow older, you start to look back on things you wrote and realize they're shit. Right, Flame?

...My stories aren't shit!

No idea. I guess at the time that was just the way I wrote it. I can't remember who the person even was any more, it's been well over a year since I talked to any of them.

Twixie. Their name was Twixie, I think.

Thanks for the reply and clarifications.

So the "something that happened off-site" was something else, which motivated the friend to report the downvotes and get him banned. I misunderstood that at first.

So the moderators may have noticed on their own, and the friend may not have been to blame after all?

That's a finer distinction that I meant to make, but fair enough.

As you grow older, you start to look back on things you wrote and realize they're shit.

True enough. All the same, I like to think that I'd still share them with people who understood that and were still interested. And in this case, it's not like 6000-word random comedy fics need to be great literature.

I guess Kaidan would be the one to talk to about that, though; and I'm not especially motivated, since the story is at least still online.

I could link to her their account, but there wouldn't be much point, since she they (or someone with access to her their account) hid all her their stories a few months ago, and she they apparently hasn't haven't been back since.
