I've noticed a few recent comments on 'The Pantheon of Harmony', so I figure I might as well say something about the status of my stories.
I've been going through a bit of a cycle. I feel bad about not writing anything for a while, so I think I should make a blog post telling you about why I haven't. Then I remember that the most common way for a blog, Livejournal, Tumblr, et cetera to end is with the author saying 'hey, haven't been around for a while, but I promise I'm gonna revive this thing!' So I decide the best thing to do is to actually write something and put it up. Then I wind up spending the day RPing or reading other people's ponyfics or whatever, and the cycle continues.
I still do want to write a bonus chapter or two for 'The Monster Mash', and one's half-written already. As for 'The Pantheon of Harmony', call it on hiatus; I need to do some serious thinking about the story, decide if it's even one I want to write, and if so dig into the chapters and do some revising. (It was my NaNoWriMo project until illness took me out of the running, so I know it's got some weaknesses.) I already took 'To Serve' down, as that one needs similar care and attention to do it right, and I'd only done one chapter anyway.
I feel that the writing bug that pushed me through 'The Monster Mash' has died, so I'm not going to promise anything further. I do, however, enjoy the process of writing, and I get a happy feeling in my tummy when you give me such nice feedback and kudos, so hopefully I can find a new bug somewhere. Keep watching me, and you'll know the moment lightning strikes again!
Well, I was hoping the inactivity on PoH was just you being on vacation or something, but at least you're admitting to it. I hope you get the writing bug back, I know what it's like to be unable to write one of your stories.
Also, where do you RP?
Well, I'm glad to hear that you didn't change your mind on bonus chapters of Monster Mash, and that taking down To Serve wasn't an abandonment of the entire concept, at least. I thoroughly enjoyed both for the wide range of tone and emotion you were able to evoke, and the latter was actually the only Conversion Bureau fic I gave in to read. I'm sorry to say I couldn't enjoy the Pantheon of Harmony, unfortunately, but that was more due to my personal disagreement the with the metaphysical setting you presented, rather than any flaw in the writing, which was all great for what I read. I wish you the best of luck in finding some new motivation (god knows that's something everyone could use), and that eventually I'll be able to read some more of your work. If not, well, at least enjoy whatever you end up distracting yourself with, and it'd be nice if you could toss the first chapter of To Serve back up, because I'd like to read it through again.
