Here's an update on the progress of chapter 3 of FoaSE. If you lurk around the Spacebattles forums, you probably already know some of this.
As of now, Chapter three is 7,381 words long. I've eliminated a planned but never acutally written scene with with Rarity and AJ, since it made no sense and was just an excuse for Rarity to say how horrible the war is. I've instead drafted a scene with The Squad, set the time to late afternoon, and did a whole bunch of stuff to streamline the flow of the story.
As of now, I'm missing 3 scenes. Well, 4, but two of them kinda tie into each other and so count as one.
I think this story will end up having 5-7 chapters. Original Sins, the sequel, will be much longer (I hope).
Also, the following MLP characters already have stuff planned out for them (As in, they'll be viewpoint characters):

Octavia
Lyra (maybe)
Cherlilee
Derpy
The CMC
Mayor Mare
Gilda
Trixie
For Original Sins, I've already done a draft of the prologue, and have planned several Advent and Vasari characters.
