Hello all my few dozen followers. It is I, that fan of 80’s pony, Al-1701. And I’ve been actually posting content, yes-no?

Enclave vs. Empire, the REAL Difference Between Dream Valley and Equestria

When it was still relevant, I had commented on multiple occasions D G D Davidson's depiction of G1 in his story, A Mighty Demon Slayer Grooms Some Ponies, was dull and insulting. Along with having slogged through the story itself, I had read many of his blogs about his thought process in creating it. One such blog probably explains the linchpin behind why he made Dream Valley such a depressing

    Alternate Timelines Provide Potential

I had abandoned Equestria Nova, because I found the reasoning for it to be faulty. I was kind of raging against Friendship is Magic and other things. Looking back, it was not my best moment. I abandoned it, and started looking at other possibilities.

If "My Little Pony 'n Friends" Had Continued...

Here's a what if. What if "The Transformers" and "G.I. Joe A Real American Hero" didn't self-destruct in 1986? Not only did they set themselves up for cancellation, but they also dragged down My Little Pony and Jem and the Holograms before their time. They originally ordered 61 episodes of the My Little Pony side of "My Little Pony 'n Friends" with the intent to use "Rescue at Midnight Castle"

We Need More Episodes Like "Canterlot Boutique"

I'm frankly burning out on Friendship is Magic as a series. I've never been a fan of sitcoms, especially Aesop-driven ones meant for children. They tend to run out of material at some point, and the delivery of the morals gets rather repetitive. I especially hate the "lose to win" cliche as no one in their right mind would accept the terms the story provides without exhausting their options.

What Season 4 NEEDS to do · 6:27pm Sep 28th, 2013

With eight weeks before the premier, I want to put out my thoughts about Friendship is Magic going forward. After the massive shakeup that is alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle, Season 4 could be a major turning point for the series determining if it will have longevity or should be ended after this season or maybe after a shortened 5th season.

The thing is, the communications out of the creative staff has been "Don't Worry, the ponies are still the same ponies." That's great and all, but that's not what I care about going forward. It can be assumed the group will remain together and basically be the same in their chemistry. That's what got the show as far as it did. What I care about is how they're going to use Twilight's new position. How will things change?

Because things need to change. I'm getting a little restless with Friendship is Magic. I don't like that the Cutie Mark Crusaders are stuck in a rut until the writers get bored with the 'lesson' regarding patience (I guess they failed with me there.) I'd like to see more of Equestria past Ponyville and Canterlot. I'd like to see this show behave more like a high fantasy series since it has all the pieces in place but refuses to use them.

They need to use the fact Twilight is a princess. They need to expand the show's horizons. If the don't in favor the precious status quo, the show should not be long for this world. They went to all the trouble and through all the grief to make this monumental change, and if it means nothing to structure of the show, then it was nothing more than a move to sell another toy.

Basically, you have your princess, use her.
