Writing Better · 4:39am Sep 25th, 2013
The funny thing about writing your own story, is that you are worried that yours won't be as good as the others that surround you. On my account, I read other stories to get a better understanding with how others write theirs. I am currently writing my own as well as reading others for a learning experience as well as for pleasure. I do enjoy reading stories and I want to contribute to that. The question I bring up is, How do you handle your fear for other's criticism?
I was clicking around through some stories on the front page, reading some comments and the like when I noticed your avatar - the evil Dash. Rainbow Factory was what brought me into looking at MLP more. Anyways, I clicked on your profile to see what was up and noticed this blog post, and felt compelled to say something. So, that's how I got here and why I'm posting here.
I went through something similar to this and wrote about it here. I think that maybe you can find something in there that can help. It's how I dealt with my fear and overcame it.
Don't let this fear trap you though. Don't let it control your life. You are a free person, you dictate your will over things, not them over you. Do what you can to write well, get a pre-reader, heck, get two or three if you think you need them, and post your stories in groups that match it. Do all you can, hope for the best, and let your ship set sail.
1677124 I appreciate your comment. Trying to decide to post as always been difficult to me. I am however, working on mastering my issues. It's people like you that make me push forward and succeed. Thank you.
