Getting out of my writer's block

So, I've been kinda quiet these last few weeks around here. Honestly, I've been going through a bit of a writer's block and have had a lot of trouble sitting down and writing, and writing well. Also school has been piling up and my time was really strained last week especially with all of my tests going on.

Getting out of my writer's block · 4:47am Sep 24th, 2013

So, I've been kinda quiet these last few weeks around here. Honestly, I've been going through a bit of a writer's block and have had a lot of trouble sitting down and writing, and writing well. Also school has been piling up and my time was really strained last week especially with all of my tests going on.

The good news is, I'm finally getting out of that block, and to make matters even better, I've found a new way of prioritizing my writing which I tried out this evening. It worked wonders for me. I ended up getting a good 12 pages of writing done in about six hours, and efficient at that. I pumped out the rest of chapter 6, got around a thousand words done for the first chapter of another story, and did some revisions to a one-shot I have planned. I'm really happy about this new procedure and I hope it works well for me in the future.

Some of you may have noticed a blog that popped up here earlier yesterday afternoon. Please ignore that. I was upset over a class that I had just dropped today and wasn't thinking straight, especially when I talked about Started with a Hoof. I plan on finishing that story up over the next few weeks and it is my top priority above all else and won't be leaving that number one spot. Yes I did mention the Homeworld story which I still am going to do, but that's number two at the moment. Everything else, we'll see.

I'm also never going to announce any upcoming stories anymore at this point, because I've learned my lesson about announcing early. I've given out rumors of possible stories in the past and it has never gone to plan either due to my schedule or due to other ideas that keep on popping up on random occasions. Actually that is a major problem with me; I have too many ideas and I have a lot of trouble juggling them all at times. That's why I think this new procedure for me will work really well.

Well, that's about it for now. I'm sorry if the first blog post earlier scared anyone. No I'm not giving up on Hoof or slowing down on it. I just wasn't thinking straight. Honestly, after all the plot changes, I just needed a quick break. I'm getting back on my A game. Until next time, farewell!

P.S.- And yes I changed my profile picture again. Anime for the win!

Announcing plans in advance is usually bad, unless you are really organized and have the story already written out and ready to go. Sometimes, it can work out, though. I announced a sequel to one of my stories, and now I am writing it. It's a tad later than I expected, but they'll forgive me. (I hope.)

If you're dead certain of what you're writing next, I would say announcing those plans is okay, since it builds a bit of hype and excitement. The only thing that should never be announced is dates.
