Progress Report #3 · 4:33am Apr 10th, 2012
Not much progress, just really contemplating the story's plot, without actually planning or noting anything. I'm thinking about more of the setting and the reality of the story.
You see, I'm not exactly fully on brony. Whilst I like to participate in the community, that's about all I'll ever do. The thing I admire most about FiM (besides the fluid and creative animation art) are the 6 characters, their personalities and their traits. But I don't want to create a completely new stand-alone story. For a start I'm not talented enough, I don't have much time and I have other interests I'd want to pursue. Although I admire art and create art (both in literacy, drawn & digital art and music), I'm not an artist. It's something I want to have a go at anyway.
So what I'm thinking about is a human adaptation of FiM, but I don't want to name a real city and say they are there - I want them to keep their neighbors, jobs, lifestyle, world and magical setting in a fictional universe... but ontop of that, that leads to problems in the story, primarily with names, like Equestria and Ponyville and Canterlot, titles such as Pegasai and Unicorn, which revolves around the theme of ponies and horses. I guess with the humanoid modifications, some of these names and titles would have to be changed. This is also why I want to introduce fanart to help paint an image of what I'm trying to create. My only fear is that my project will be ignored and brushed away...
