I've only recently discovered the joy of MLP. When my friend, Eselle, suggested I watch it I must admit my first reaction was to scoff. Pfft animated ponies. Whatever! Then he told me he was only looking forward to two shows coming out soon because they were so well written. MLP and Suits.

Did he seriously just compare a kids show to one of the most well scripted shows in my viewing history? A show that moves seamlessly from humour to drama in one fluid movement? A show with such flawed characters that they feel so real they could step out of the screen at any moment? WTF?

So I gave it a go. I devoured all three seasons in about two weeks and BAM! Colour me converted.

Then I got this urge to write about ponies. I discovered there was a character named Doctor Whooves and knew right away that this was what I was going to do. I'd read one of Eselle's stories prior to watching the show, Coming to Terms but other than that I was coming in blind. I had no idea of fimfic conventions, especially when it came to characters such as the Doctor. I was terrified that I would write something so out of whack with what the rest of the community had done that I would be lynched. I managed to swallow my fear and wrote Attack of the Cyberponies.

And man was it fun!

I'm working on another story at the moment. Another crossover, this time with Star Trek. I've creatively named it Star Trot for now. Terrible I know, that will probably change lol. Yet again I've not read any of that fic prior to starting this story. It could be crap but as long as I'm having fun then I don't really care.

I'm trying very hard to work on my grammar skills. I came into this a dirty grammar heathen and as you can tell from this blog entry, I still comma splice with the best (worst?) of them. I do try to make an effort with my proper stories however. I hated it at first - I found it distracted me from the story but now it's slowly becoming second nature. There will be purists out there who will always gripe at the small errors but I write to get stories out of my head and save me from madness, not to give them a grammar boner.

Anyways, to those of you who read Cyberpnies, thanks for your feedback and support. I'll get the first chapter or two up of the next one in a day or so. Hope you enjoy that too :)
