Getting Back on Track · 4:05pm Nov 29th, 2011
Things have calmed down considerably from the beginning of the month and after taking some time off from writing for both the Thanksgiving holiday and to recharge my own batteries a bit I am pretty well ready to get back to turning some stories out. My apologies for the delay, but I'm sure I don't have to explain to anyone how life can get in the way sometimes.
I've got a number of ideas jotted down, a couple more in my head and one almost fully outlined. Yes, writing is a process for me anymore. Gone are the days when I'd just sit down and write what came to me. That was fun back then, but I want to turn out better quality stuff and that means 1) taking my time with it; 2) outlining things so I know what I'm writing and when; and 3) getting someone to pre-read to make sure I haven't just written some ridiculous piece of drivel.
So what exactly is on the horizon? Well, much as I told myself I'd never do it again, I'm going to do kind of an anthology of stories focused on a core of characters and form something of a storyline to tie them all together. I suppose you could call it my own fanon or headcanon or what have you, but trust me when I say I'm not as beholden to it as some people are to theirs. I can't guarantee everyone's going to like my storyline and you're all welcome to disagree or dislike my version of things. But ultimately what ends up in my stories is what I want to write, not what others want me to write or what I think others want to read.
I write primarily because it's fun for me. That anyone actually enjoys my work is fantastic to me and I deeply appreciate all the comments, reviews and praise that's been heaped on me. Just don't ask me to write a certain kind of story with certain characters or what have you. I don't do requests. Ever.
Hang tight, folks. New stuff is on the way! ^_^
Yay new stuff!!!!!!!!!
