My First Official Blog Post · 6:33am Aug 6th, 2013
Hello all! I just figured out a little while ago how to work the blog posts on this website, so I figured I'd introduce myself. My real name is not open to the public (as I'm paranoid about that type of thing), but most of the people reading this probably know me as Apple Crumble. I am a college student pursuing a career as an English/Earth Science/French teacher (haven't made up my mind yet). Oh, and I'm obsessed with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. My favorite character is Applejack, as her sense of honesty, loyalty to her friends, lack of ability to say no, work ethic, and stubbornness all strike a chord within me. Although Rainbow Dash, with her blindness to other peoples' feeling on occasion, her competitive spirit, and her love for books and speed, ranks a close second.
Now, if you've read my previous writings, you may find that I don't write love stories or humorous tales that leave you in stitches. From the types of responses I've gotten, my stories tend to be the one that leave you in tears of happiness and sorrow. I take normally-happy situation and expose the deep, dark underbelly of it all. I was recently asked by one of my friends why I do this, and I've come up with an answer: not everything is happy. Not everything is all sunshine and smiles. Things hurts, and when they do, it's not pleasant. But the pain always goes away and blossoms into something worth-while. The moments in which we hurt the most tend to be the moments in which we learn the most important lessons. Those are the moments I want to capture in my writing. I'm sorry if you see my writing as cold and dark, but this is just what I do.
Anyway, I applaud you if you've made it through this rant. And I'm sorry for having to put you through all that. Well, until next time,
Apple Crumble
Rather have enjoyed your work, and will still be looking forward towards more.
