At this moment, just after releasing the latest (and so far, longest) chapter of Merge, the +22/-10 vote count turned to +21/-11.
If this were after the religious debate I had in mind for chapter 9, I could understand. With a topic like that, you're bound to cause some hurt feelings no matter which side you have win. But this is not that chapter.
Is it just more blind assumptions that this is a Conversion Bureau fic? I could probably understand that -- that's why I added a "no it's not" to the story's description, and even then somebody on #fimfiction thought otherwise and I had to reiterate that I dislike TCB and would never write such a fic!
It's really quite puzzling when none of the people who actually downvote bother to step forward and explain themselves. Is that so much to ask, guys? Really?
(While typing, the prereader for chapter 8 upvoted, but I'm not amending the opening sentence since it's technically correct and my point still stands.)
