A novel seems really intimidating · 6:41am Jul 4th, 2013
I hate writer's block (who doesn't), and it seems to strike at its worse in multi-chaptered stories or me. I think it because of my impatient nature, makes pacing the story challenging for me.
So, I've decided I'll write a short story, but one with multiple chapters. A novella, if you will. I have an idea, and I'm pretty confident about it, but I'm not gonna say what it is because I notice that I usually say "oh, I'll write this," then later say, "gee, this was harder than I thought, so I'll do this instead." Hell, sometimes I'll even say, "Hey guys, I did the first idea after all!"
So no promises this time. I'm writing a novella, that is all I can be sure of.
Best of luck! You can do it!
1186924 thank you! I'll give it my best shot
Same thing for me really.. taking on something that's a really good idea, get some chapters done, only to realize it might be too much. That's why I've put When Angels Call(which you're the only person to fave, actually.) on hiatus. I've sort of dug myself down too deep, and can't seem to find a way to get back and finish the story in the way I want to.
Dug a hole, jumped down and now I can't get up or reach the damn shovel again
If you haven't noticed, novels are what I generally write
Just take your time and go at your own pace.
