Man of Steel - Review

I saw Man of Steel the other day. FYI, you can continue reading since there are no spoilers. Overall: 2.5 stars out of 4

What I liked: Film was well casted/acted, esp. Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe (who I'm not a fan of), the visual effects looked extremely realistic, and also the music was really good.

What I disliked: The first hour was a complete drag, the handheld camera was used way too much (And I love handheld camerawork; but only when appropriate), and I also felt that there were a lot of unnecesary characters (ie the Daily Planet staff minus Amy Adams)

Overall, despite the film having it's flaws, I still enjoyed it overall. I will say though, the fight scenes at the end were so mindlessly crazy that I kept waiting to see Peter and the Giant Chicken come out on screen
