Chapter 15 Update - Celiac Disease · 10:35pm Jun 22nd, 2013
So I think I've got it written out!
WOOO
That took so long. I had a really tough time with it. Now comes editing!
Also thinking about what will happen next in Troth...
In other, personal, news - I found out that I am allergic to gluten/wheat.
I figured it out because my grandma and mom were diagnosed, then I read the types of symptoms.
Guess what one was? Depression. I was up to try about anything to get rid of my depression, so I went Gluten Free for a bit. I was startled by the fact that I can actually feel laughter now, not just because I know it is funny - but because it warms my heart. That might be a little strange to read, but I put on a good show for everyone, that I made myself laugh at things I knew to be funny (intellectually) that it was odd to actually FEEL that it was funny. Maybe someone else can explain it better?
Though I looked into some things - I think a lot of allergies are actually based on GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms). For instance, my older sister is 'allergic' to apples, oranges, and bananas. But she can eat organic ones with no problem. Why? Because they haven't been modified. They are 'real' fruit, not altered. Apparently, I would be able to eat bread in France. I looked into why that would be possible. They have a complete ban on GMOs!
When I move out I will only eat organic, and I hope that if you read this you buy organic next time. Our kids will be a generation completely brought up on GMOs... I'm scared to think about what kinds of hells we'll be putting them though.
Also: I was thinking about people who are lactose-/beef-intolerant. Does the GMO-grain fed to cows make their milk/flesh 'sickening' too?
I'll be doing more research into this in my spare time. If anyone has any good information or recipes, please comment!
