A Bunch of Ideas

Whoah, a blog post. If someone reads this, I'm pleasantly surprised.

So, I have some ideas I'd like to share - both ponyfic and original fiction. It's unlikely that I will pursue any long ponyfic this summer, because I'm eager to start writing an original fiction novel in my native Finnish. However, I probably will do some ponyfic oneshots while keeping my main focus elsewhere.

Fly On [Random] [Slice of Life]
You can't always choose your destiny. Sometimes, it chooses you.
Scootaloo can't fly, yet her cutie mark is a pair of silver wings.

Basically, a collection of moments from Scootaloo's life as a brave test pilot and Equestria's first astronaut.

One More Trainquil Night [Sad]
Somewhere, far from the watchful eyes of the Princesses, stands a beautiful forest patch. It's surrounded by endless fields of grass, only a pair of infinite train tracks betraying the presence of ponies.
Here, two unicorns find themselves stranded, with no memory of how they arrived. To make matters worse, they are unable to use magic.
When will the next train pass, and where will it go?

Yeah, a sadfic. I've crawed to have some interaction between Twilight and Lyra, two of my favorite ponies.

The Autumn of Equestria [Adventure] [Grimdark] [AU]
After years of exile, Lyra Heartstrings receives a letter from somepony she thought was long dead. A new hope in her heart, she journeys to the land that once blossomed with friendship and love. Though she knew that things had gone awry in Equestria, nothing could have prepared her for the harsh reality of a land torn by war, plague, and the loss of two princesses.

More or less a rewrite of my first ponyfic. It's unlikely that I'll start this anytime soon, because it would get long and take too much effort away from writing original fiction. Still, the idea intrigues me. Perhaps I'll write this someday.

Then, the original fiction ideas:

Koillistuuli (A Breeze from the Northeast) [Thriller] [Grimdark]
About 150 years after the 3rd World War, a new world order has been established. Europe is divided between a few large nations: The Finnish Empire, Kingdom of Norway, Kingdom of Arkhangelsk, and Republic of Poland. The protagonists are Finnish conscripts, most of them dirt poor before joining the army. After showing their prowess on the field of battle, they are chosen for a secret mission.
That mission is to locate a hidden bunker at the Ural Mountains; inside are the launch codes for Russia's remaining nuclear missiles. The codes to end the war with Arkhangelsk, and to make Finland a hegemonic world power.

An adventure full of misery, death, and ethical pondering ensues. The dream of a Greater Finland has become truth, but the reality of European people is a dystopic struggle for survival in lands tainted by radiation and sadistic warlords.

Kosmodromi 26 (Cosmodrome 26) [Horror] [Random]
A young Finnish man, living in the rural Lapland, sees an aircraft crash-landing into a nearby forest. When he runs to investigate the crash site, he finds something shocking: a large complex of buildings surrounded by a tall fence of barbed wire. Interestingly, the sickle-and-hammer emblem of the long-defunct Soviet Union has been hung onto the locked gate. The man decides to not tell anybody about his strange discovery, eager to document his sensational findings and steal potential valuable debris.
But the more he finds out about the site, the more he will come to wish that he'd never stumbled in front of its gate.

A horror story. The site, a displaced Soviet Cosmodrome, is full of mystery and strange things, what the protagonist will eventually find out. Escape from the complex isn't easy, but the man is strangely compelled to come back, even after multiple dangerous escapes from inside. The mystery of Cosmodrome 26 will gradually unfold.

Yksinäinen Lasinsirpale (A Lonely Shard of Glass) [Tragedy] [Grimdark]
Russia invades Finland in two weeks by dealing a devastating surprise assault. The protagonist, a young man living in Oulu, gets his wife and children killed. He becomes increasingly determined to fight for the Partisan cause, achieving many heroic deeds.
But while others see him as a glorious freedom fighter, the only one to know the truth is him; in reality, he's gradually descending into insanity, and only killing the enemy has any meaning for him.

A very tragic story, full of insanity and murder.
