New Story! · 7:39pm Jun 10th, 2013
So this first blog post is to commemorate the first story I've written and posted on FimFiction.net. It's titled "The Apple Tree" and currently has one chapter. The story is an exploration of the Applejack/Twilight pairing, which I've been intrigued about since I read a post about why that pairing might not be a good one. Why not? I thought I'd give it a little thought experiment to see if I could justify the pairing and this story is the result. It's an obvious first story, so there may be edits later on, but I hope that you'll enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed writing it. Please don't hesitate to provide criticism, though I'd rather you limit yourself to constructive criticism so that I can actually take what you have to say and apply it to my writing.
A note on the Southern accent I used for Apple Bloom and Applejack: I live in the South and have for most of my life. I find reading Southern accents, when people try to phonetically spell out the way Southerners say some words to be very jarring. So instead of doing that, I tried to imitate a Southerner's way of speaking by liberal use of contractions and idiom. In any case, if you hate it, you hate it. If you like it, you like it. I'm not going to change that part of my writing because, for me, it works.
