Regarding "Pie Hard" · 1:26am Jun 8th, 2013
Dear FiMFiction Community,
We Need To talk about "Pie Hard".
I do, in fact, read the comments that are posted on this fic and on further evaluation, The Negative criticisms are absolutely right. This Story is rushed and nonsensical much like my previous fic "Deadpool and Pinkie Pie: 1,039 Hours" which I consider to be a major embarrassment to myself and the Pony Fic community. I realise that "Pie Hard" is somewhat an improvement over that one, but it is still not very good. The Main issue I see with my writing is that everything is too rushed. If one looks at my chapters, they would notice that they average out to 350-400 words each. Making them ridiculously short and ,above all, not very entertaining.
In a way, it's like the PG-13 cut of "Live Free or Die Hard" or the UK cut of "A Good Day To Die Hard", You cut something down, especially if it's part of (or in this case homages) a legendary franchise and it becomes just unbearable.
I will also admit that "Die Hard" is only my 2nd favorite in the series, my personal favorite being "Die Hard With A Vengeance" which I'm pretty sure I could make a better fan-fic of given the source material.
But back to the problems with "Pie Hard". I do realise that the choice of Trixie as the Hans Gruber stand-in is very weak and that I brought Shadowbolts into the picture just to stay somewhat accurate to the cover.
The choices made here did not require any discipline. I watched what others had done and I took the next step. I stood on the shoulders of John McTiernan and Lauren Faust to accomplish something as fast as I could and before I even knew what I had, I titled it, I hyped it, I slapped an awesome cover on it and I submitted it.
I know what must be done.
That is why I will be giving "Pie Hard" a MAJOR overhaul.
I will attempt to make the story longer and better, with an improved understanding of the film i am taking Influence from.
