Okay people, seriously.. · 11:10pm Mar 26th, 2012
You know, writing fan-fiction has always been a really enjoyable hobby of mine to do in my lately rare free time, and I enjoy posting them online for others to see and enjoy.
However, it has come to my attention that a lot of people are slowly forgetting the purpose of a fan-fiction, and who they are written by.
They are written by fans.
They are not written by professional authors.
They are not written by newspaper editors.
They are not written by grammar-nazis.
They are written by fans.
Lately, I've been seeing a lot of people commenting on fictions here on this site, some of them short, and some of them a short paragraph. You want to give some criticism? That's perfectly fine, and I can relate to that.
But seriously, for those of you who come to my story and leave novel-long comments about minor and, to be honest, not-too-important material and how it can be improved, you're not doing anything more than wasting my time.
I come here and post for fun. If I wanted to be given such long critiques, then I would take my stories to some publishing website, and not here. A lot of you complain about some minor OOC (out of character) behavior in some fictions on this site, including mine.
If everyone was supposed to act in-character all the time, then what exactly would be the point in calling it a fan-fiction? A little OOC here and there never hurt anyone, and at times, it can be necessary.
Am I ranting? Actually, to be honest, I'm really not. I mean, sure, it may seem like I am, but I'm really just trying to prove a little point here.
These fictions are written from fans, people. Cut others some slack. Seriously.
Enjoy the fiction for what it is, and not for what you think it should be.
End of discussion.
That's all I have to say for now.
I love you.
Preach, brony, preach.
That kind of crap angers me, except some of the time, they occasionally choose to ream me about it.
DAMN STRAIGHT
i hear ya man, i'm starting to get hates because of some stupid spelling or grammer errors on my story, i mean who cares really that i dont capitalize an 'I' or don't put an apostrophe or comma in the right spot, or confuse some words like 'were and where'
This blog... I approve of!
THANK YOU!!!
