I Had an Idea · 1:36am May 17th, 2013
So today I got the sixth chapter of A Certain Type of Chic typed up. In the main anyway. Then it occurred to me that it's almost time to bring this story to a close. This has been my first published ponyfic (and fanfic for that matter) and, although there are parts of it I'm not absolutely satisfied with, I've become somewhat attached to it. It's a strange feeling: there's a part of me that wants to keep drawing the story out, for better or for worse, indefinitely. Yet I know it has to finish and I know that I've now started down the route from middle to end. It seems such a short time ago that I started typing up that first chapter and now I'm thinking about writing what may be my last.
So for that reason, I found myself wondering what to do next. And the more I thought about it, the more ideas came flooding in to my head. I've made a short-list of the best on my phone's notepad and no matter how many times I look at it, there's only one that keeps jumping out at me. So I thought I would make a blog post letting you know about it since I don't know how many of you will be interested in the concept. I know I haven't got a lot of people watching me, but I hope that a few more people will. So if you've enjoyed my first work, I hope you will enjoy my next.
Anyway, I've prattled on for long enough, on to the idea as mentioned in the title. My next story will not be a romance; a great number of the prospects were but I felt like changing it up a little bit. I will probably write one or two of those later on in the year. My next story will be about my favourite Cutie Mark Crusader: Sweetie Belle. It will follow her progress in her chosen career after she finally earns her cutie mark. It will not follow the traditional line that she ends up with a singing cutie mark. It makes perfect sense for her to follow a different career since she says herself she doesn't like singing in front of people. What she is going to do, you'll have to wait to find out. I think I should say though that it does involve the Equestrian music industry.
In any case, I hope you all enjoy the conclusion of A Certain Type of Chic and, if you fancy it when it's published, you could have a look at the as yet untitled Sweetie Belle story. Thanks for all of your support!
