The rain.
Some hate it, some love it. Some think nothing of it.
I, personally... like it.
It's so calm... relaxing. It illuminates the greenery of the plantlife during the day, and shrouds the world in darkness at night. It either gives color, or takes it away. Either way, I love it.
The sound, the sight, the smell... and sometimes, when I really get into it... the feel of it.
Some who enjoy this scenery like me might draw the line when it starts thundering.
Me...?
Hell. I love the lightning and the thunder. It may take away the calmness a bit, but... it adds something else.
I'm not quite sure what it is. Could it be the mysterious and awesome power of nature? Perhaps.
But whatever it is, I like it.
Sometimes, when it rains, I'll just sit on my porch, watching, listening to, and smelling the rain. Sometimes I prop open my bedroom window and sit in my favorite lounge chair next to it. Some wind may blow some rain in, but the hell if I care.
So here I am, sitting in the chair, writing this down, listening to the rain, constantly glancing out the open window at the ripples in the puddles.
And why am I writing this down? I dunno, the thoughts just come to me.
A few minutes ago, the rain was coming down really hard. I could see people running in from the rain. Would I run? No. I would walk. As slow as possible. The way I see it, I'm 70% water anyway, why should I care?
Rain is considered a luxury here. In the desert, rain is a miracle. Sometimes I stop and think; I try to wrap my head around the concept of rain. It's water... falling from the sky. I find this very interesting, and slightly amusing. It's then that I fully appreciate rain as a miracle.
The rain has died down now... the loudest noise is the echoed sound of water flowing down deep into the storm drain.
The thunder hasn't been too loud this time around. It's very quiet, and I haven't seen too many flashes of lightning.
The storm is passing... With it passes the things I have to say. I must go.
I hope I have taught you to be a bit more appreciative of this kind of weather...

Is there another kind of weather that I am more fond of?
Ah...
...Snow.
But that, my friends, is for a another time.
