So, it should come as no surprise that I am officially declaring 'Battle Brothers' to be dead. I will be honest, I enjoyed writing it, and learned quite a bit from it.
However, for the kind of story I wanted to write, I truly feel that the Adeptus Astartes are too fanatical and that turning them into ponies was beyond stupid. Not only that, Warhammer 40K is such a vast and deep universe that prior knowledge of it is mandatory. Even if you're the best writer in the world, it is extremely difficult to convey just how messed up it is.
However, there is a spot of good news in this. While Battle Brothers may no longer be updated, I am considering writing another story that is heavily inspired by the 40K mythos, and by the Space Marines in particular. At this point, that is all I want to convey. I feel that by breaking away from 40K I am allowing myself much more latitude. It will allow me to do things I would not be able to do with a crossover. Not only that, I won't be forced to shit all over 40K canon in order to make things work (see, Tzeench in the materium... I must have been high when I wrote that).
So yeah, expect a new story in the next few weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to take you on one hell of a ride.
