Equestria Daily and 'Worlds Beyond', part three · 8:07am Mar 23rd, 2012
It'd been more than a week since I heard back from Equestria Daily regarding the dismayingly inconsistent feedback I received for 'Worlds Beyond' (after what had seemed to be a most promising first reading), so I sent an email yesterday (well, strictly speaking, two days ago, as it's now 1 AM) to make sure I hadn't fallen out of the pile again. Today (yesterday—I haven't been to bed yet, okay?) I got a reply.
The reply was, in short:
1) It's your story.
2) We don't do editing; if you need editors, find editors.
3) We're sorry the first guy and the second guy disagreed.
4) Listen to the second guy.
As my muse is now sulking under my bed and saying worrying things like MY VISION, I wouldn't expect the next chapter to come out any time soon. (And again, I'm not looking for any pats on the back or anything. I'm just sharing my frustration so I can get past it and decide what my next move is.)
EDIT: actually, there is something I could use from you. How the hell do I find more editors? The reply suggested 'asking for help on Fimfic', but I have no idea how I'd reach anyone who hasn't already read my story.
Well I certainly hope the next chapter comes out eventually.
You could always use the chat. I also have a friend that may or may not be interested, I'll let you know soon.
Taking the opportunity to plug a group I'm a member of: Proofreaders and People willing to proof-read. Also, there's Looking for Editors.
I looked over Worlds Beyond myself. As a reader, I liked it. I'd be willing to be an editor for it if you haven't found one yet, although I'd certainly encourage you to look over your other options in those groups before you make the decision.
