"Night of the Shaggy Dog", which I'm pushing for this week, is almost done. I just gotta bang out a couple more paragraphs and throw it on gDocs. It's currently at a little under 1400 words. One to two thousand words seem to be a reasonable weekly standard to hold myself to. I mean, it feels kinda low, but it also seems to be about all I can get in. (Note that these are not necessarily proofread words.)
Things I plan on writing next:
- A piece I'm referring to in my head as "Luna helmet closet memories". Luna digs her helmet out of her closet and reminisces for a bit before putting it on and going to get s*** done.
- Something for the School for New Writers May Contest. I'll almost certainly go for the second prompt, I've got like a half-a-dozen ideas that could work with that.
- Everything I can remember of the crazy shipficy idea that popped into my head overnight. Somehow, I have no idea how, it was inspired by Luna-tic Scientist's Days of Wasp and Spider. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to write anything down, so at the moment that consists entirely of "I found myself kissing Fluttershy. <write this better>I turned and fled.</write>"
Which is weird, because the main viewpoint character of this fic would be the main character of Wasp and Spider, and based on the first four chapters that sentence just wouldn't work in the 'verse Luna-tic has crafted so far. I could come at the ship the other direction, but then I'm forging new ground.
Also, I intend to put up a blog about a new group idea I had, but I wanted to get this out first because I want that post to stay up for a while.
