Headcanon Equestria

Right so, in my head I have little bits and pieces of all my ideas of Equestria, and then they mixed with canon and combined into this semi-understandable headcanon of Equestria's history. It sort of skips over Discord, which I'll fix later, but I was mainly focusing on Nightmare Moon for this one.

Once upon a time, an evil spirit controlled the land of Equestria. His name was Discord. Discord used his chaotic magic to control the ponies who lived in the land. He cared not for the ponies well-being, all he cared about was the next creature he could use to control. This continued for generations until two alicorns, Luna and Celestia, stopped him. They used the mot powerful magic in the land, the elements of Harmony to stop Discord and bring harmony to the land. They took charge of the throne. The older, Celestia, used her magic to raise the sun each morning. The younger, Luna, used her magic to raise the moon at night. It seemed like this harmony would be maintained forever. But not all was well, for during Celestia’s day the ponies played and relished, while during Luna’s night they shunned and slept through it. No matter how hard Luna tried to get her night noticed, adding comets, stars and constellations, ponies just didn’t care. Luna became jealous, but more pressing matters arose. deep within the frozen north of Equestria, a shadow lurked. The nightmare. An innocent unicorn was exploring the Crystal Empire, a beautiful empire where the crystal ponies lived. The empire was magic, and with its magic it brought happiness to Equestria. The unicorn who had been exploring the empire discovered the nightmare, and the nightmare whispered dark secrets into the unicorn’s ear, promising power and infinite magic. The unicorn gave in, and he controlled the empire with an iron hoof. King Sombra. Luna and Celestia battled Sombra until he was trapped in ice, but not before he cursed the empire for it to disappear for a thousand years, along with any memories of the empire. The nightmare escaped the ice, and it found Luna. Luna, filled with jealousy for her sister, was the perfect target. Already powerful with her nighttime magic, the nightmare transformed Luna into a wicked mare of darkness. Nightmare Moon. Celestia had no choice but to use the Elements of Harmony against her. When Luna was banished the bond of friendship was broken between Celestia and Luna, the elements no longer could be used.

A thousand years later a student of Celestia, Twilight Sparkle, was sent to Ponyville for the Summer Sun Celebration. She had no intrest in friendship and was more concerned with the warnings of Nightmare Moon returning, for the stars had aligned themselves in a position that allowed Nightmare Moon to return from her prison. There she met 5 other ponies. Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy. When Nightmare Moon brought herself towards the celebration, she captured Celestia and trapped her in the Moon, wishing her to suffer the torment she had. But Twilight had heard of the Elements of Harmony, and she traveled towards the Everfree Forest with the 5 ponies she had met to the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters, where the Elements lay. While traveling in the forest Nightmare Moon lay traps and challenges for the Six ponies to face, and using their Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity and Loyalty they proved their friendship. At the castle Twilight tried to create a spark to light the elements once more, but she couldn’t. Nightmare Moon came a teleported her and the elements to another castle. The other ponies, who had left the room, ran as fast as they could to find Twilight, and when Twilight heard their voices in the hall as she faced off Nightmare Moon, she felt a spark. Using their friendship, Twilight lighted the Elements once more, and the other ponies became their element. Twilight was the final element, magic. They ripped away the Nightmare from Luna, and Celestia was freed once again.
