Car Crashes, Drunk Driving, and Hand Cuffs · 10:26pm Apr 11th, 2013
i got arrested today...
i guess i should tell the whole story...
Well a couple weeks ago a police officer came into my drama class and asked us to play parts in a mock car crash.
Five of us got chosen.
1 to play a corpses
1 to get arrested as the drunk driver (me)
1 to be put in a helicopter and flown to a hospital.
2 to scream and act like they are in pain
the point of this was to get kids to see what a real car crash would look like. They also did this before prom so kids would think twice before drunk driving.
(2 weeks later)
So on the day of the accident i got to school at about 10:00 am because they didn't want anyone to see us all day, you know for affect. when we got there there were 5 police car and 2 ambulances already there. The make up artist started to put our makeup on. when they were done all of us looked like zombies. Well, i didn't look like a zombie the make up artist didn't put much makeup on me because if i was too injured they would have to pretend to take me to the hospital. but they wanted me to get arrested. so i only have a large scrap next to my eye.
After we were all bloodied up we were ready to get started. so we got in the ambulances and they drove us to where the car crash was set up. one of the cars were on its side all smashed up (we will call this car "car 1"). the other car was up right ("car 2"). and they meet each other head one. after they ambulance dropped us off they drove a couple blocks away to get ready to come save us.
Three of the victims got in car 2, me and the person playing the corpses were not in a car. but we are supposed to look like we came out of car 1. the corpses lay on the ground acting... well dead. i was pacing back and forth looking worried and cussing every once in a while. oh yeah did i mention it was raining and cold outside too. it really added to the affect in my opinion, but it didn't stop me from freezing my ass off.
after we were all set up they brought all the kids out to see us act this out. it took them about 5 minute to get all the kids out there so i had to pace for 5 minute trying to look as scared as possible. once they were all out there, they gave the signal to the police and ambulance to start. we could hear the sound of sirens blaring. Then around the corner drove a couple ambulances and cop cars.
they came up to me and started asking we question like what happened and who was involved. well, you see we didn't rehearse AT ALL, so i was just making shit up trying my best to answer the questions. but it didn't matter the kids were too far away to hear what we were saying. after they found out that i was "drunk driving" they cuffed me and led me right passed the group of kids to the police car. (for those of you that have never worn hand cuff, let me just say, they are NOT very comfortable.)
well by then i had been out in the rain for about 10-15 minute so i was freezing cold. my hands had already gone numb. so being put in the back of a nice warm police car was a welcoming feeling. i sat in the police car for about 5 minutes or so. i wish i could tell you what else happened to the other actor, but i was put in the police car pretty fast so i didn't get to see it all.
but i do know the helicopter flight was canceled because of bad weather so they just put her in an ambulance with the others. they said they were going to put the "corpse" in a body bag but I'm not sure if they actually did it.
after all the kids were back inside they got me out of the car, took off the cuffs and i went back to the high school.
i had a blast XD
i'm really glad i got chosen for this.
i heard a couple of the kid recorded this so i will post a video or pictures if i can get a hold of it.
i hope you enjoyed my story
and have a nice day.

Well, I'd certainly call that a successful day.
