So... apparently, shit went down yesterday over a bad April Fool's day joke played by the admins. I personally don't care for April Fool's Day, as nobody ever does any pranks; they just act like cunts and say "April Fools" to get away with it. A prank is something that does not cause a mass panic, but is still funny or at least interesting. I essentially missed the "holiday" because I was doing something productive with my life: Playing Bioshock Infinite. Now, I gather that something happened involving gold(?) and the extermination of HiE fics(?). But I need some clarification.
They thought it would be a good idea to antagonize a large portion of the community by...
1) Having Knighty pretend he was leaving
2)Having Poultron assume control of the site
3) Having Poultron apparently BAN all HiE fics and other such stories like anthro and humanized.
In short, they were complete idiots and as you said,

I (and I'm not the only one) can never tell when stuff is a joke or not when it comes to April Fool's Day, seeing as how I'm just plain bad at it, and I don't come across much of that. And when you're not sure if it's a joke or not it really sucks to have that rolling around in your head, especially for me, since I'm writing about 10 fics off and on right know (all of which are in my head) and about 7 of those have humans in them. They were just doing what everyone else does on April Fool's Day and just acting like cunts, as ElectroHaiso puts it.
