Yes, this is a SOON that announces the near arrival of a new chapter. It is not, however, chapter 8. There is a facet of ViM I’ve been struggling to convey within the text without anything that felt like success. I was able to make some progress in chapter 6, but even then I seemed to fall far short of the mark. Around that time I started to engage the denizens of TWG IRC for their thoughts and advice, and one SomeponyNew finally broke through and got me to see reason.
If I really wanted to make the reader aware of this aspect of the story, ViM needed a foreword.
I don’t want to spoil any of the content, but the next update will be a mini update that delves into the nature of ViM and why it was written…in universe. This and an outline reassessment have taken up most of my writing time these last two weeks, so chapter 8 will be estimated for three weeks from today. I don’t like it either, but them’s the breaks. In any case, have a short update and a happy Easter/Passover! (As applicable, of course.)
