From now on I'll try to do this weekly with fanfic progress/ideas, and a review of either another fanfic or, when the show comes back, new episodes. Skipping out on the latter this week, because I want some time to make a decision about what I will review, and what to write about it.
Fanfic progress
Okay, first off, the latest chapter of "The Model Caretaker" is up, though I'm sure you noticed.
Anyway, I won't be starting the next chapter until tomorrow, as I always wait a day between publishing one chapter and starting the next, because I want to take a little time to think over my plans for said next chapter before I begin it.
Though, while we're on the subject of "The Model Caretaker," the story that inspired it, "Kindness In Dancing" was first published one year ago today, meaning it's been one year since the first story ever to ship Flutter de Lis was published. I thought it was an interesting milestone to note.
Fanfic ideas
Anyway, the fanfic ideas I mentioned at the end of the last chapter of The Model Cartaker have both run into major problems.
The clopfic, which I was honestly never too hot on, is on life support. I wrote out the sex scene but it runs right through one major problem: Bad IKEA Erotica (TV Tropes link, your free time stands warned). Now, I know how I can fix it but I'm not sure it's worth the effort since I only wrote it to get it out of my head in the first place.
As for "The Happiest Days of Our Lives," well, that one needs more time in the incubator. Specifically, the idea is new and complex enough that it hasn't had time to develop into a writable form yet. Give it a month or three and it will be on its way (oh, and I have to think of a name for the coach we see in "Hurricane Fluttershy." Does sadist coach sound like a good name? :P).
And if those two don't get off the ground, well, I do have two older ideas I can easily merge. One involves Luna calling upon the mane six to help her find her soulmate (and thou shall groan at my terrible grasp of comedy writing...maybe), and the other is a sequel to "Luna's power and Rainbow's love" that is meant to show how their relationship has progressed. The two idea can easily be merged, due to a line in the story about Luna considering asking them for help finding love.
