Any tips?

after reading many of the stories here I have been wanting to write my own but I'm not sure where to start, so does anypony have any tips for me? any and all tips would be most appreciated thank you everypony.

Here is one that is simple, and you'll find that it's more useful than you think. Just sit down and write, whatever comes to mind, just write.

You probably won't be publishing that, more than likely it'll be terrible. What is important is to practice. Finding an editor and a sub-editor would be helpful.

Find an editor and a sub, sit down and write, doesn't matter what about. Just write and send it to them to get opinions.

Make sure you get good ones too. If the people you find to review your stuff aren't telling you how terrible it is, they aren't helping you. They're hurting you.

I had the same problem, so I watched some movies, used some experiences and names form my everyday life, like cousin Mayhoof, his name is Mr. Mayher, he is my science teacher. plus, on the other side, i just listen to music while I write, it inspires me to write, like I have playlists on what type I want to right 9sad, happy, scary, ect.) so good luck to you, I look forward to reading your stories.

Well if you want to start a Story, the hard part is coming up with an Idea that you have not seen on another story. The good news is every shipping has been done so that is a free pass.

What I do when I start one is I think of the ending I want to use, that way I can build the story to reach the already set goal, once you have the ending you want, you need to think of the ponies you want to use and where you want to use them.

Just make a random story in your head it's what I do then get into add stuff remove stuff imagine very scence of it finish it in your head then type.

i'm no author but i have helped make the plot for about 2-3 storrys and contribute many OC's and co write and preread another fic withe my 2 freinds so i know some stuff i'm gonna say A) find a prereader after making a good idea B) think about the possiabilty of getting a freind or someone you know would be willing to help with the plot and just geniral story C) don't be afraid to ask for help from followers and freinds
well that's all i feel i can advise you since i havn't actualy written a fic but i know all of that works pretty well and i'd be willing to help you with the plot line and with plot twists if you want the help also i can help with any problems you have with thinken up OC's and Bio's for them
