"World in Conflict: Equestria" Tidbit · 4:14am Mar 8th, 2013
(Just some more writings I decided to share, let me know what you think.)
We'd barely heard any information coming out of the Estovakian Invasions of Emmeria and Usea as we had our.own problems on the Homefront.
The New Lunar Republic had launched their own attack on our soil, supported by several elements from the Griffin Empire. We knew the Fragile peace between our two alliances would soon be shattered, but that did nothing to take away the shock factor of the Lunar tanks rolling over the border. The diplomats had failed, and now the armies had taken over. It fell to our generation to take arms. We were young, spoiling for a fight and glad that our time had finally come.
Initial attack hit us hard, driving us back beyond Canterlot until the human Battalions arrived to reinforce us. In the wake of the surprise attack, the Equestrian 9th Fleet had been destroyed, and the Lunars followed up their success by making an Amphibious landing North of Manehattan. I was just a green Lieutenant at the time, and I had been ordered to scramble my small company out of Fillydelphia to help in the defense.
We were under the command of a human named Colonel Riley Davis, a man who some said was a hero from the last war.
I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I knew that the time for battle drew closer and closer...
North of Manehattan, Equestria
1300 hours
"We could start the attack here..." The Colonel mumbled.
"Maybe..." Captain Brook, an Equestrian Officer replied. "But we have to remember the Lunars have us outnumbered, and they might have brought along some Griffins for support."
"No Griffins here sir," A young Pegasus said, trotting toward the officers. "Our Recon was just completed."
"Colonel Davis," Brook said. "This is Lieutenant Frost Runner, a kid I picked up while rallying our forces."
The Colonel furrowed his brow.
"Are you any relation to Daring Do by any chance?" He asked. Frost looked surprised.
"Uh, yes. She's my mother."
"I thought so. You have the same color mane. And your father is Storm Chaser?"
"I'm surprised you know about him."
"I served with both your parents in the last war. So they finally tied the knot huh?" Frost opened his mouth to respond, but a humvee pulled up, blaring loud music. From the vehicle, a human wearing the uniform of the Usean Army walked up too the Colonel.
"Captain Jared Dawes!" The man said with a salute. "Ready to kick ass and take names sir!"
"You're an hour late Captain." Davis said flatly.
"Sorry sir, there was just this girl that-"
"Never mind, I don't care. I'm putting you in charge of Charlie Company. You can see it from here."
"Oh right the-"
"Now get moving!"
"Y-yes sir!" The Captain sprinted off in the direction of his new unit as Brook looked on.
"Very eager." The Stallion commented. "He'll be dead by dinner."
"Maybe," The Colonel replied, shrugging. "Now where were we? You said you lost one of your officers?"
"Right. Lieutenant Blazer. The fool stepped on a mine."
"... I think Lieutenant Runner can handle that command."
The two Equines stared at the human for a moment, before the Captain sputtered.
"The kid?! You can't be serious sir, he's never led a unit!"
"You doubt my judgement Captain?" The two stared each other down for a moment before the Colonel looked at Frost. "Get going Lieutenant."
"Uh, yes sir!" As the Pegasus galloped off, Brook continued to glare at Riley.
"You humans think you can order the world around as you see fit!" He spat. Davis whirled on him.
"We have a war to win, and until such a time that the guns fall silent, we're going to do this my way." With that, the Colonel himself departed. The Captain muttered a curse, sending the map on his table flying before he turned to get back too his own unit
interesting... go on...
