Been Busy With College, Medical Issues, and Those Blasted Pre-Readers · 11:29pm Feb 28th, 2013
I know, I haven't really touched the fanfic I've been writing for a long time now. I've been very busy with college stuff, and medical problems (I'm on a new medication. Long story...) for the past few weeks (close to a month). I'll try to do something about it at some point or another, but I don't know if I'll be able to for a while.
As goes the pre-readers on EqD, well... Here's the thing. I had an english professor at my college look over my fic. He's been teaching English 1, English 2, and Creative Writing for about 42 years now at the college level. To put that into perspective, I'm 21, and he's been teaching for slightly less than 42 years, so he's been teaching slightly less than double the amount of time I've been alive so far. He says that other than a few small punctuation errors, my fic is fine, even if the pre-readers are harping on me over it.
I know that from a logical standpoint it's a bad idea to appeal to authority, but when it comes down to it, if an English professor with more than 4 decades of experience with the American English language is telling me that my fanfic is good, I'm inclined to ask to see the credentials of the pre-readers before I'll believe what they say about my fic being terrible.
