I should give this post a title. · 8:49pm Feb 24th, 2013
Ugh... by shipping Big MacIntosh and Cheerilee, I now have to write a scene where the schoolmare comes to dinner and hilarity ensues. Of course, instead of doing that, I went and wrote scenes that happen afterward. And they asked me why I didn't follow through with that Journalism major 15 years ago...
I've also been making vectors on Inkscape, turning background ponies into fillies and colts, just like I did with Granny Smith. (maniacal laugh) I think I'm at 8 so far, and one foal using Baby Applejack's design from the Reunion, naturally, because she's cuter than the Cakes, IMHO. The project is starting to get a little Apple heavy, though, since 3 of the 8 completed ones were present at the reunion, Auntie Applesauce is half finished already, and I'm strongly tempted to do Hayseed and Apple Strudel because I found the perfect screen shot for them. Of course, this will be at the risk of keeping Strudel's mane white, since I don't know what color it was when he was a colt...
So far I'm trying to keep it Mane 6, Princess, and Bon Bon free. Ok, maybe not Bon Bon free, but I'm not in any particular hurry to vector her. One thing I've noticed is that if you're looking for a variety of poses, Applebloom's your filly. It's a tad more difficult to find colts, but it's the same way with stallions.
So between writing chapters out of order, the side project that wasn't Snow Day, and vectors... I can't say I'm not working on Granny's story, but it's taking longer than I thought it would. Maybe that's a good thing. I should watch Family Appreciation Day anyway before I post a particular chapter, just for accuracy's sake.
**Edit... it's a good thing I did. While the issue of Granny Smith's actual age is still unresolved, I discovered an important correction that I need to make to Chapter 6. Oh, and Aunt Applesauce is finished, bringing the total to 1 foal, 2 colts, and 7 fillies vectored. I might go back and add the yellow ribbon around Auntie's neck... If Granny Smith is over 200 years old, how old does that make Auntie? Older than her teeth, obviously, which a lady never reveals the age of.
I have a tendency to get hit with these ideas at inopportune times, like in the middle of shoveling snow... and I have no way to jot them down, so they just keep rolling through my head until I finally word-vomit them into a .doc file. It's like I can't concentrate on anything else until I get it out of my head, even though it has nothing relevant at all to do with the current plot. For example, right now, I have an Alternate S3E13 scenario running through my head that needs to come out. I call the .doc file "Snippets," and it's full of incomplete story ramblings, most of which are not MLP related.
