My first hour of Planetside 2. · 1:59am Feb 23rd, 2013
Alright, so I got Planetside 2 the other day, and this is a written recounting of what happened for my first hour on Indar.
I installed it, looked up some videos and started playing as Vanu (sexy spandex FTW). I decide that I both want to contribute to my team and stay a safe distance away to learn the ropes, so I choose medic. Warp in, everyone jumps into a Galaxy (big ass dropship), alright, let's go kill some- OH FUCK CACTUS!!!
One respawn later (still can't Believe how huge the maps are) I warp on Vanu-controlled Crown (NC are backed into a corner). Let's go kill some shit!
Stick with teammates, earn a couple of first kills and revives, push NC off the station...
*Ten minutes later*
OH GOD THE CLUSTERFUCK JESUS CHRIST HOLY MOTHERFUCKING SHIT-
A short amount of time later, we push them away temporarily from the Crown just after I die. I decide to hook up with a platoon and try out the Vanu hovertanks. Sweet ride, gain some kills, we kick ass and take names. Confident, we head over to Zurvan Amp station to push away the poor TR trapped there. Piece of cake, I think.
*Another ten minutes later*
OH JESUS FUCK THERE'S ROCKETS EVERYWHERE-
It takes us a whole fifteen minutes to fight our way through, and I had to ditch the Magrider on the way before being vaporized, but we zerg-rushed their lines and took them out eventually (at least my teammates did most of the work while I ran around like an idiot reviving people left and right).
Then I decided to try my hand at flying a gunship. I stayed in the air for ten seconds before turning too tight and crashing into the ground. Oh well. It was a fun experience.
Ah yes, flying. The true test of Planetsiders everywhere. I have yet to not kamikaze any of my flying attempts.
