Luna is going to be bucking METAL.

So, to say that I am pleasantly surprised by the response to By Celestia's Beard! is an understatement. I had originally meant the story as a silly one-off to break the fingers in again after a long period of writing nothing more interesting than daily reports for my day job.

The response to Emo/Goth Luna (better known as Dark Shadow Moon Bane, Dark Moon Mistress of the Shadowed Night) was also surprising. When I write comedy, I tend to go for a mix between subtle, dry humor and more slap than you can shake a schtick at. (Get it? Slap-schtick?) Needless to say, this has spawned a few ideas:

- Luna goes to a Black Saddle concert and comes away convinced that biting the heads off parasprites is acceptable behavior for artistic souls in this new era.
- Luna tries to resume her Emo/Goth persona, perhaps in disguise, and finds that today's ponies aren't quite what she expects.
- A more detailed account of DSMB's dark shadowy reign before her big sister made her wash all that makeup off, took away her Dead Can Trot and Fillies of Mercy albums, and sent her to her room on the moon with only Depeche Mule to listen to.... And we're not talking the Violhayter album either, but the bad stuff that nobody listens to any more.
- Luna decides that Emo/Goth is way overdone, and decides to become a Mare of Metal, listening to Dethklop, Iron Mare-Den, Wyld Stallyns, and occasionally, when no one is around, Gallop, because Neighl Peart can play the drums really well.
- Some combination of all of the above plus more.

So, dear readers... Darest thou hear the dark and shadowy tale of Dark Shadow Moon Bane, She who Rules the Night, The Mare Whose Sister is a Total Poindexter? Granted, it will take time away from my more serious stories, but I still feel a need to work the kinks out before I start writing once more about time-traveling ponies and how the Mane 6 deal with major life-changing events.
