    So... This Happened Yesterday.

    This movie's gonna rock!

You know, this reminds me, I have a Star Wars fic somewhere on here. I should get back to writing that.

Also, Fimfic apparently suffered from a DDoS or something. I dunno.

When Will It End? · 11:36pm Feb 10th, 2013

Wow...

Just... just wow? Really, guys?

What ever happened to "wait and see what happens before we all gather together and start bitching"?

Is it REALLY necessary to say that Alicorn Twilight will kill the show when NONE of us have seen any evidence to the fact? Is it desperately needed to say what Equestria Girls even IS before Hasbro even REVEALS what it's supposed to be? Must we REALLY call Hasbro the devil for all the Cease and Desist shit they've pulled?

Yeah, I'll admit, canceling Fighting is Magic was a dick move. As was Derpygate before it. But let me pose a question...

Do you think we're going too fast for Hasbro to keep up?

I mean, think about it. Over the past two years since this fandom was created, we've had fan sites, memes, games, fan art, fan fiction, PMV's, music, remixes, fan comics, and conventions-- oh CELESTIA, the CONVENTIONS! All of which were created by the fans and not the creators themselves.

My point is, we've grown so big so quickly, Hasbro didn't see us coming. The corporate entity is "retaliating" because... they really have no idea what the hell to do with us. We weren't the target audience for FiM initially. We were FAR from that target audience. We literally came out of NOWHERE! Yet the show grasped onto so many of us so quickly-- perhaps TOO quickly.

Now, I'm not justifying or supporting the recent decisions Hasbro has made. In fact, I consider their choices to be completely baffling and questionable (not just MLP-related, but in their other brands as well). Instead, I'm looking at the complete and total knee-jerk reactions from the fans. I just can't believe the same bronies who I believed were calm and cool and collected members of the fandom just... go off in these... nonsensical rants that claim they have real backing support but... they really don't. I mean... would you REALLY believe a so-called "leaked" picture or quote from someone if it came from "an anonymous source that claims to work at Hasbro/DHX/The Hub" or... something just as ambiguous? No, if you waited and THOUGHT for a minute, you'd probably take this information with a tiny grain of salt (or, depending on the rumor, MOUNDS of it, to turn a Yahtzee-ian phrase).

But back to my original point. Do you honestly believe that Hasbro has made these decisions-- the Cease and Desist claims, making Twilight an Alicorn, censoring/removing Derpy-- do you REALLY believe they would be out to get us for no reason? Do they POSSIBLY see us as a threat to their brand? Or are they doing these things to take what we're doing-- the fan games, the websites, and the conventions-- and do them RIGHT by making them OFFICIAL... in a desperate attempt to try and make US a target demographic?

Think about it. Thank you for your time.

I think they're just desperately trying to cling onto the little girl demographic instead of what it actually is. :facehoof:
Just to sell those stupid plastic BS toys.

However, I think you're right. People are overreacting, and Hasbro was only being logical to call out legal claims. After all, Hub TV and Hasbro basically owns MLP. If FiM (Fighting is Magic) didn't get permission first, then Hasbro did win. I mean, it's only fair to them.

But... perhaps we are moving a bit too fast. But I doubt we are ever going to stop moving this fast. There'll always be conventions, new fan-art, PMVs, plushies, etc. It's just a matter of fact versus opinion, and this is mine.

815140 Too true. I honestly do believe we're moving too fast for Hasbro to keep up. I mean... how long did stuff like QuakeCon happen before the creators said, "Huh! This looks cool!"

Hasbro could honestly be trying to do the same. But the problem is since we've done so much in so little time, Hasbro really has no clue where to start on making us a target audience. They announce Alicorn Twilight, fans are bitterly divided on it. They release a new game from Gameloft, we hate it. All of these attempts could be seen as Hasbro trying to see just WHAT they can to do with all these grown up, adult fans who watch MLP and support the franchise.

It's like if suddenly all these girls latched onto Mass Effect or something. Bioware-- or any other game company for that matter-- wouldn't know what to do with those kinds of fans. Granted, I know women who love games like Mass Effect and Halo, but I'm just using this scenario as an example of the kind of opposite target audience than what the creators expected.

815182 I think it would be more effective if they stopped trying to please little girls as well as the actual demographic age targets.

I mean, the game (c'mon, let's face it) is kinda centered around younger kids.

I just wish Hasbro would wake up and take a look around. Obviously, what they're doing isn't working and is not as profitable as what the fandom's doing.

...although... I wish they'd keep doing what they're doing. Why? Because I want them to be jealous of how awesome the fandom is and what they can do and wish they could be like us. Gives me just a hint of satisfaction that they'll never realize it, nor be able to replicate what we are capable of doing. :pinkiehappy:

It's good to see fellow Bronies who aren't fan raging like mad about these :ajbemused:

I have to say, I'm also disappointed at the fans who make this way too big deal. Yeah, I admit that I was bit upset about Twicorn at first, but then I realized that I didn't have anything to worry as the writers hadn't let us down yet. And this can also open up new possibilities. I think the reason why this change is such a big deal is because, well, it take the show into different direction and changes it. And many of us (I mean as a entire species) don't like the change. And yes, it seems that too many forgot that this is a kids show after all. Chill out and just enjoy. But I will admit that some episodes could be better *coughspikeatyourservicecough*

But now I'm looking forward for the finale episode with great interest and maybe with a small excitement as M.A. Larson is behind it. And so far his episodes have been really good.

And the Fighting Is Magic. Yeah, again, I was bit upset but then realized that there must be another way than just blind rage. Hopefully Hasbro might explain somewhere in the future why they did this.

And I have a GOOD idea that the writers and actors are going to have field trip from this later in future Cons. While talking about how many in this fandom went just batshit insane :pinkiecrazy:
