If there is one work I can attribute to why I write My Little Pony fanfiction and draw most of my inspiration from (besides the show of course), it would be mmmandarinorange's amazing PMV. I'm not one to be reduced to tears, but this beautiful retelling of the pilot nearly ended me on its first viewing.
I bring this up as we are approaching the end of this season, and part Twilight Sparkle's journey. I have no idea what Mr. Larson has planed for us Saturday, but just take the time to watch this video to appreciate Twilight's beginnings as she attains her rightful place along side the Sun and Moon.
In story related news. The Crystal Empire fic is all outlined, and I should have at least the first few scenes done by the end of the weekend.

The thing that got me writing was the song LUNA.
The idea of a pony waiting for a thousand years for Luna, seethed in hatred and consumed with the idea of revenge against Celestia, just stuck inside my head for two months until I did something about it.
I love this video. It's an outstanding piece of compressed audio-visual storytelling and easily my favorite PMV ever. I can't even hear "Cosmic Love" anymore without this video playing in my head.
My favorite thing about it is that it tells its story very clearly but also leaves some compelling questions that are open to more than one answer. Is Twi really a self-made orphan in this version of the story, as the video seems to imply? Does that mean that Luna becomes Twilight's aunt in her adopted family? Does the split screen ending, with only Twi on one side and only Luna on the other, imply two endings -- one in which Twilight vanquishes Nightmare Moon to eventually become the new Princess of the Night, and another in which Luna is restored at the cost of Twilight's life?
I've seen other PMVs that made me feel as much on the first viewing, but never one that made me think so much or return for so many repeat views. Amazing stuff. You have excellent taste, DalTRS.
