Now try squeezing in recruiting the changelings, fighting off griffin raiding parties, finding and recruiting sea ponies, and even more events that I wanted to do for this story. It was at this point I realized that there was just too much I wanted to do for this story. You can't have recruiting changelings, fighting griffins, discovering and recruiting sea ponies, cleansing Luna of mind control, raising a rebellion against a tyrant, and making friends with the mane 6, yet still have enough room to ship a character with an OC AND have enough energy to write Pinkie's parts. It just doesn't happen with any amount of quality without reaching "Griffin the Griffin" lengths, especially for a first dip into writing fanfics.
