Heeeey what's up everyhuman this is ColdHeart speaking. I know, I know I shouldn't be blogging, I should be working on chapter five which still isn't done. Just wanted to let everyhuman know that I haven't given up on the story and I'm working as hard and fast as I can, and now that it's the weekend, I should get a lot more done. I would be very surprised if the chapter wasn't finished by the end of the month. On the bright side, though: Pinkie Pie.

lol, to be honest, I'm slacking off a bit when it comes to my own Pinkie story. The latest chapter should've been up today, but I've been distracted by Doctor Whooves and put off finishing it

nonononnnnnnoooooo I would never, ever be able to do that! Ever! I come up with new ideas all, the time, and I now have a list of five, but I don't let them get in the way of TDOPDP. Whenever I face writer's block like that, I take a step back, get a cold drink, sit back down and just force myself to write. Sometimes it works. Other times, it results in the death of Pinkie's family.

Usually, I'd agree about how difficult it would be to maintain a good enough schedule for both stories, but I was moderately clever about Pinkie's story and have about... 5 unrelated chapters already written up so there shouldn't be that many delays. I've got scheduling for the stories down a bit anyways. Every Friday comes a Pinkie chapter and every two weeks on Thursday is Doctor Whooves.
So, I was moderately clever with that
And yes, writer's block is absolutely terrible FORTUNATELY, since I'm writing a detective story, am a detective buff, and has every Sherlock Holmes story (and a few from Agatha Christie and more from Nancy Springer's Enola Holmes series) I am seldom short on mystery ideas. Coming up with PG mysteries is a bit of a challenge, I'll admit, since I don't want to include murder and drug-related stuff (which is basically 90% of mystery) but it's gotten easier.
725275 I have some pretty severe ADD, so my writing is extremely improvised and inconsistent. Like, I'm literally writing my story right now, just toggling back and forth between MS word document and FIMfiction.net. Whenever I get a story idea, I go write it down so I don't forget, then I think more about, come up with a title for it, come back to the computer, go do some homework and eat a snack. But ideas for stories including TDOPDP come constantly. It's just a matter of actually focusing and typing.

I've ADHD and have about a dozen tabs open and three MS documents open and I continually switch back and forward on everything. I try to write down every idea that comes to mind but I forget and often times bang my head against a wall trying to remember. I've forgotten several ideas on Doctor Whooves, for example, that were probably really important!
725328 hahaha I feel ya there. Whenever I do write an idea down, I manage to lose my paper. There's only one thing I can do when I face writer's block and can't for the life of me think of what to write next: describe. describe anything, in long superfluous sentences with big words. I can give you like five examples of when I did that from my story!!

I usually watch source material when I get writer's block
It's quite easy considering my stories are about detectives and Doctor Who. So, I end up watching Sherlock and DW.
What's worse is when you're on a roll with writing and SOMEONE just comes in and ruins your flow! I'll be writing and all of a sudden that's when everyone decides to come in my room and stay for an hour.
