Sure, we've talked a bit in chat, but come on! Certainly it takes more than just a sharp wit and excellent humor to make someone follow you? Like... stories? But thanks all the same; you have helped me garner that much more self-confidence, and possibly influenced me to eventually share my own pony words with others.
If that doesn't go over well, however...

Actually, it really only takes basic interest. whatever the reason, the function of the follow button is just to be informed of posts and stories a user makes. The reasons are up to the user. I can imagine as much variation in "follow standards" as those for marking favorite stories.
As for my reasons, they will stay my own.
