MLP Season 2 Notes

The Return of Harmony-There are few better ways to start off a new season than with a great new villain. Though maybe Cadance should have been added here to help the season come full circle.

Lesson Zero-Speaking of Cadance, you think Twilight learned the want it need it spell from her?

Luna Eclipsed-Perfect lesson over. Zip, door close, slam. I watched that on a loop numerous times and so have all of you. ADMIT IT!

Sisterhooves Social-Most Likely one of the show’s best and one of Rarity’s best episodes. Not much else to say other than it's a good wholesome episode with a good lesson.

Cutie Pox- “My sister’s speaking in fancy!” Oh my gosh I can’t even. 

May the Best Pet Win-“I need real fast like a bullet to keep up with me.” 
Wait, bullet? They have guns in this world? How does that work?

The Mysterious Mare Do Well-Sort of the poster child for “bad” MLP episodes, but personally I think even the “worst” episode has good stuff in it. For example you gotta admit the Mare Do Well costume looks really cool, also the idea was actually well planned out. Not just 1 but several ponies using their talents to solve the problems at hand er hoof, and misguided as it was the episode still had a good moral and about humbleness.

Sweet and Elite-One of my personal favorite episodes for multiple reasons. Good story, good jokes, a wholesome lesson, the introduction of the party cannon, and come on. Fancy Pants, Jet Set, Uppercrust, Hayseed Turpintruck, how came you not love these pony names?

Secret of My Excess-I’d like to be assaulted with cake.

Hearth’s Warming Eve-Honestly a rather underrated episode. A good story with really good worldbuilding.

Family Appreciation Day-”What are you a dictionary?”
“Cause everyone loves a callback.”

Baby Cakes-Tractors that small actually is pretty funny.

The Last Roundup-We love you Derpy.

The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy-Hey Rainbow, just give Pinkie some extra bits so she can buy some cider for you.

Read It and Weep- So fun fact, Ahuizotl is a waterdog. A creature from Aztec mythology that would snatch people from the water’s edge. Which is weird because we never see the guy near water.

Hearts and Hooves Day-Am I the only one that wants to know more about the pony obsessed with jars of jelly?

A Friend in Deed- ”Meet somepony new, check. Introduce myself, check. Sing random song out of nowhere, check.” 
Have I mentioned this show is comedy gold?

Putting Your Hoof Down-So is another episode that gets a hard time and I don’t know why. Fluttershy becoming nasty shows how badly even the best of us can take advice the wrong way, Iron Will in general is fun, and it was in my opinion one of the best morals in the show. You can be assertive without being mean.

Wow, intimidating, funny, and touching. What a combo.

Hurricane Fluttershy-There has got to be a better way to bring water up to Cloudsdale.

Ponyville Confidential-Entertainment over truth, is more relative now than when this episode came out?

MMMystery on the Friendship Express-”Fine I’m guilty! I wear false eyeglasses! Oh and I took a bite of the cake.”
You know in her own way, Rarity is even funnier than Pinkie.

A Canterlot Wedding-Wow, what can I even say about this that others haven’t already? First off this season started with a great villain and ended with one. 2nd Shining Armor was way too nasty at the rehearsal. That bothered me for a long time because he never said he was sorry. Though what he says later could be considered an apology. Either way it made me care that much about the feelings of 3 foot tall purple horse, that's good story telling. Music is good too. All in all this is definitely some of the show's best work. I can't say it's perfect though, even if I did there's a whole group on this site with a different opinion.
