Inspirations...Inspirations...Inspirations!!!

we love them; they fuel our writing process, but let's get real for a moment. There's no such thing as 100% original work, what are you?GOD?!. Everything we create is influenced, consciously or subconsciously, by the world around us. Whether it's literature, art, music, or film, every piece of creative output is built upon the foundation of what came before(except whatever people are posting on Deviantart because this shit is a sign that humanity got too creative and needs to stop).

I mean for real, Think about it my fellow creative friend: that English dude...what was his name? oh yeah, Shakespeare didn't invent every plot twist or character archetype in his plays even if that guy made up new words and added them to the English dictionary. The Beatles didn't create every chord progression or melody in their songs but they gave us the Yellow subramine. And every blockbuster movie you've ever seen probably has echoes of classic storytelling woven into its plot except Wes Anderson movies, that man's movies are weird but strangely cozy(Grand Budapest Hotel is my Fav Wes Anderson movie btw :raritywink:) .

And you know what? That's okay i guess. It's not about reinventing the wheel; it's about using it and spinning it in a way that feels fresh and exciting without being a prick about it. Creativity is about taking inspiration from the past and putting your own unique spin on it like shipping fictional characters and making them gay even if they are not in canon. It's about remixing, reimagining, and repurposing ideas to create something new and exciting like adding Franz Kafka to the world of My Little Pony (yes this is an idea that I will write).
