Hey everyhuman, ColdHeart here with a review on the latest episode of MLP, Apple Family Reunion. I realize that I'm a bit late, but the only way for me to watch the show is on my tablet somewhere in my house where no one is looking (I'm a closet brony), so I just watched this episode a few minutes ago. This was, as the title would suggest, a very Applejack episode, something we don't see that often. At first the sheer lack of Pinkie Pie made me upset, since she was in like two seconds of the episode, but I guess too much of a good thing is never good. I loved the return of Babbs, I don't know why, but I really like that character and was hoping we'd see more of her. Applebloom is my favorite out of the CMC, so seeing her for the majority of the episode was great too. Here's my problem: every Applejack episode there is, she messes up because she's trying too hard to be good. In the Applebucking Season episode, she was just too good to accept help from anyone and she was to used to helping others, which I liked because it fit her personality and made her a really likable character. But in this episode, it looks less like she's worried about making her family have a good time and more like she wants them all to work. Yes, I know she's a working pony and values diligence and effort, but it still makes her look a lot like the Flim-Flam brothers when she whips out the gasoline-run sowing machines. Braeburn didn't say much in this episode, which disappointed me a little, as I wanted him to make a return as well, I SAW OCTAVIA in this episode, that made me laugh. Speaking of Octavia, I enjoyed the song in this episode, but the actual ending disappointed me a little bit, since the whole episode was Applejack's going overboard with the work part of the reunion and not letting ponies talk or catch up with one another, and her resolution was MORE WORK! Yes, okay, the Apple Family was doing the barn-raising together, I understand that, but still, they're building a barn, for God's sake, it's not that fun and still doesn't give them much time to talk to one another. I'm still glad it worked out in the end, though, I was happy to see Applejack learn something, happy to see Babbs as a friend instead of a "bad, bad seed", happy to SEE OCTAVIA, and this episode gets a 2.7/5 from ColdHeart. What did you think, everyhuman?
Actually that's not Octavia, she's just a color variant named ironically Fiddlesticks.
