Tell Your Tale Season 2: Special 1 Thoughts and Feelings · 3:50pm April 10th
So, I know it's been a week since it came out, but I wanted to wait for everyone to watch the episode first before releasing my own review.
It won't be long and detailed, though, and it'll be more about my feelings and thoughts on it than a review.
So, first of all, one single TYT episode di what 4 MYM Specials couldn't: Actually make me care about the plot, because it DOES matter and you MUST see it. It moves forward Allura's plot line, reveals new powers from the Nova Charm, and even manages to properly extended your usual 5 minute little problem into a 20+ minute adventure. I mean, we also got to see a Seapony! How cool is that?
For the first time ever, Izzy in TYT actually seems to have a brain. One of the things I despise from Season 1 is how Pinkie Pie-coded Izzy is, and I'm saying it for the worse. Like, the joke of Izzy having no friends as a kid is not even funny, and then the show tries to drag that on for a long time, and... Dude, we get it, she has it hard to socialize like a normal pony, but do did Misty, and she's still better written! So I'm glad this special actually made Izzy feel like in MYM and in the movie, instead of a Pinkie Pie 2.0.
Other thing I'll like to point out: Allura actually cares for Twitch. We all know at this point that if Opaline was ever before a situation where her life and Misty's are at stake, she'll sacrifice Misty with absolutely no doubt just to save her own flank. Meanwhile, Twitch was about to get harmed and Allura immediately launched herself to save him, demonstrating Twitch is just not her sidekick, is her actual friend.
And no, Patrick, one does not risk their own life to save someone that's "a liability" to get what they want...
I'll like to know more about Destiny, but considering the leaked TYT stuff from a while ago, we'll eventually get to know more Seaponies. If this is the start of a little arc to know more creatures that split away from Equestria between G4 and G5, then I'll accept it. And if you guys worry about G4 purists, let them whine. Their cheap prostitute moans won't stop us G5 enjoyers from liking what we like.
I also enjoyed how despite Señor B being Izzy making a voice and personality for him, it's still a good one that got a laugh out of me.
I do have a complain, though, and it's the fact that Spike hasn't shown up in TYT just yet. So Izzy goes to the Isle of Scaly, but she does not meet Spike there? Thank God that JesusG0987 fixed that in his story, but seeing him in the actual canon TYT show would be nice, too...
Finally, can we talk about the music? I think we should talk about the music. This special gave us two of the best MLP Songs EVER, not even just G5, but G4 as well. Like, that final song in the carnival was just *chef kiss* amazing, and I hope they keep up with this amazing work so far.
So yeah, this first TYT special is miles better than the 4 MYM ones COMBINED, and I'm glad TYT knows more or less what to do with its specials.

I just hope the other specials are even better.
