Notes and Analyzing MLP G5 MyM Chapter 2 ep 2, Growing Pains

Elloo everyone, this is my analysis and notes of MLP MyM, chapter 2 ep 2, Growing Pains

Episode 2: Growing Pains

• The episode starts off Hitch walking through Maretime bay, and start to see some earth pony magic going a bit wild, such as dahlia accidently growing some vines in front of the door entrance of the sheriff entrance, the Pipp Squeaks fillies (Seashell (earth), Glory (pegasus), and Peach Fizz (unicorn)) got some vines lifting them up in the air, and then there's Sprout that accidentally grew a blueberry giant size and went down the hill of the Bay. 
• When Sunny and Hitch were talking about magic, Hitch gets concerned about earth pony magic, and the need to protect everypony from a possible incident. Sunny then counter claim that earth poneis just need to take their time and learn their magic 
• Meanwhile, Opaline notice that Sunny is using the mirror again, then right after Sunny close the mirror, Opaline gets frustrated and think of something else in mind 
• Back in Maretime Bay, Hitch is making some notes such as restricting earth pony magic. Though when planning more notes, Sparky was making a bit of a mess, luckily Izzy came in just in time and said that she can keep care of Sparky for a bit. 
• When Hitch announces that earth pony magic is for now restricted to use for a while, Sunny gets a bit angry. Hitch takes the blame thinking that he's responsible for allowing earth pony magic to exist. 
• Back at the sheriff office, Izzy found some directions for keeping care of Sparky. After listening to the directions, Izzy thought that maybe there might not be nothing bad would happen to Sparky. Right as the camera pans to the baby dragon, he turns the cookies into feathers using dragon fire, which is foreshadowing about his powers…
• Back at the bay, Hitch, Zipp, and Sunny are going around and seeing what earth pony magic can do. Though every time the said magic is demonstrated, Hitch puts a restriction magic sticker on them just in case. Though sooner, the magic is slowly getting out of control due to the restriction. 
• Hitch then thought of taking out the Earth Pony Crystal as a good idea, though Sunny disagrees with the idea, and so Sunny, Zipp, Pipp, and then Izzy, chases Hitch to the Brighthouse. Sunny stated that if Hitch tries to take off one crystal, magic will be lost for all ponies. 
• Hitch then hesitated for a moment of taking off the crystal, and backtracks of what he says about magic. In this case, he realized that he's too over protective of everypony he knows. 
• (LORE) Then suddenly, the cutie marks of the mane 5 starts glowing, and the beams of light head straight into the Unity Crystal, which summons a recording of Twilight Sparkle. The recording says this: “If you’re seeing this, magic is now more powerful than it’s ever been…and Earth Pony magic has been activated for the first time in the history of Equestria! Magic is alive. Always changing, growing stronger…There are evil forces out there who will want to exploit it. Once a pony tried to steal all magic in Equestria for herself and almost succeeded. I did all that I could to protect it from…*static*...by summoning all of my magical strength to achieve placing the magic in the crystals and the…*static* But the spell is broken! You are exposed to the world once again. You must watch out for Op--(static) Before she op--...I’m with you.” (Note: though yes some say it's Twilight that did the recording, some of the fandom says that maybe it's the spirit of harmony that did the recording,..). After that, the message glitches out and Hitch and the others are now about to save Maretime bay, Hitch needs to reverse his action. 
• At Opaline lair, Opaline realized that earth pony magic is growing faster. Misty stated if there's a way to stop the magic, but Opaline replied saying that she must let it thrive first, and then take it 
• The Mane 5 arrived at the bay, and told the other earth ponies to use their magic, and also focus and guide it so that it won't go out of control (Also is it just me or did Sunny’s voice just break for a moment when she says guide) 
• Izzy also helps out as well, telling the earth ponies to “Express yourself! Let your freaky fun flags fly!”. Meanwhile, Sprout focuses and turns the blueberry back to normal, which then accidentally grows a new and bigger one. 
• In a way to stop the blueberry, Hitch stated to the rest of the group to link hooves with each other, just like around the Unity Crystals. Hitch: “Our powers are always stronger together, right?” Sunny then told Hitch to focus, and together, the Mane 5’s cutie marks were glowing, and grew a tree to block the blueberry path (in other words, foreshadowing something very important later on). 
• Sparky then woke up from his nap, and Hitch seems to be surprised and proud of Izzy keeping care of Sparky. He then said that he also may have been a bit over protective of Sparky as well. 
• At the end of the episode, the mane 5, and some other ponies, went to see the brand new grown tree created by magic. Sparky then touches the tree, and his horn glows and seems happy (foreshadowing of both the lore of Sparky and the tree that was grown in Maretime Bay). 

A message of episode 2 of ch 2: 
Though yes it's nice to protect others that need help and care for. Though it's best not to go over protective, or things get worse. In this case, Hitch learns that even some things such as magic and taking of Sparky takes time and focus, rather than rushing to quick conclusions. 

Thoughts: 

• It's a good episode, with some bits and bits of lore expansion of magic in Equestria. There's also some good character development for Hitch as well. Sunny also gets some good development as well, and serves as helping Hitch on the earth pony magic situation, alongside Zipp, Pipp, and later Izzy. and no Sunny is not a m@ry sue for this episode, she was clearly trying to help out Hitch on the magic situation. Since I'm slowly re-watching the episodes of chapter 2, the re-watch is really good once you finished the rest of MyM.
