In retrospect, I’m starting to wonder if the episode’s only redeemable aspect is the important place it has in the FiM continuity. It established that Scootaloo knew about Lightning Dust in contrast to “The Washouts” where Scootaloo didn’t know Lightning Dust at all; and that Scootaloo’s family life isn’t exactly a happy one in contrast to Rainbow Dash’s.

Other than that, while I myself actually like them, I can’t help but wish that Rainbow Dash’s parents were given another major episode. Specifically so that they could be “redeemed” as parents, and for relations between them & Rainbow Dash to be given the chance to actually improve, you know?
